Chapter 85: Hermione’s Worries

In the auditorium, four college long tables were stacked on the wall and hundreds of purple sleeping bags were laid on the ground. There was no sound, and everyone seemed to be asleep.

Evan, under Percy’s gesture, got into a sleeping bag near the door.

The magical ceiling was like the sky outside, filled with stars. Under the faint starlight, Evan saw a slender white origami crane flying quietly from the corner of the wall. It hovered in the air and accurately fell in front of him.

The paper crane made a slight noise and turned into a silver-white note with Hermione’s delicate handwriting. “What were you doing, where have you been for so long?”

The writing was slightly scribbled, showing the girl’s worries.

Evan thought for a moment, took out his wand from the sleeping bag and gently spotted it on the piece of paper. The black lettering on top of it disappeared like smog, reuniting into new words.

“I went to Crookshanks. I found it in the grass beside the forbidden forest!

Then he used his wand to re-knock it on the piece of paper. It was quickly folded, turning into a paper crane and flew back to Hermione.

“Fortunately you found it! But you didn’t have to go out of the castle. It’s too dangerous. Black may be hidden in school. You may bump into him at any time.”

“Don’t worry, I just heard Dumbledore talking to Snape. They never found

him in the entire castle. Dumbledore thinks he has left.”

“How did he do it? He couldn’t sneak into the castle so silently and quietly! The castle was magically built to prevent outsiders from sneaking in. He was certainly not invisible or flying in. Maybe it’s some kind of metamorphosis, using something like the Polyjuice Potion that we used during the last semester or…”

Seeing the note from Hermione’s return, Evan felt that he couldn’t talk about this subject anymore. Otherwise, with her intelligence, it would not take long to guess that Black is an Animagus.

It is not appropriate to reveal black’s identity before it’s time.

“I don’t want to talk about it, it’s almost midnight. Why did you stay up so late?”

Hermione’s face turned red when she saw Evan’s question. Fortunately, the auditorium was very dark and there was no need to worry about it being seen.

She couldn’t tell Ivan that she was waiting for him to come back. It was too embarrassing! She hesitated for a moment and tapped the note with her wand.

“I was worried that Harry kept saying that he saw the black dog again. It was the unknown death omen, but it was obviously absurd! And you, you haven’t been back for a while so I thought…”

“This little problem is nothing. You forgot that Harry and I had also entered the secret chamber in the last semester. We defeated the Basilisk and Voldemort.”

“That’s why I was worried.

worried. I’m afraid you’ll go to Black alone. Promise me, Evan, don’t do such dangerous things anymore, okay?”

Seeing Hermione’s handwriting, Evan had a strange feeling. Although she talked very vaguely, he could feel her fragile heart hidden beneath her strong appearance. At this time, Hermione was like any girl. Girls can’t help but care.

He didn’t know how to answer.

Regardless of the current situation or the returning Voldemort, Evan had a long road full of danger and hardship ahead of him. He cannot do anything, without being afraid that it might backfire.

Evan sighed, looked up and saw no one noticed him, he decided to do something…

In the dark, Hermione was nervously waiting for Evan’s reply, and Harry and Ron around him uttered a slight snoring.

Looking at the stars in the ceiling, her mind unconsciously recalled last year, when the basilisk in the Gryffindor public lounge rushed over them.

Evan ignored himself and held her in his arms, giving his back to the basilisk.

This picture recurred in Hermione’s mind. She knew she would never forget that for the rest her life.

Suddenly, she felt something was approaching her. Hermione looked up and was surprised to see that Evan’s sleeping bag was rolling over to her quietly.

When Evan came to Hermione, he put out his hand to pat on her sleeping bag, to make her feel at ease.

Unexpectedly, his hand met another soft, cold little hand in the darkness.

In the next second, Evan found that

found that his hand was held tightly.

The other little hand trembled slightly but never seemed to let go.

At the same time, in the secret passage under the Whomping Willow’s gate to the Shrieking Shack, Lupin moved forward with care. With his wand emitting a weak light, he checked out his surroundings.

He never thought that he still had the opportunity to return here and return to the secret road that he once walked through countless times.

Everything is like it used to be. He seems to have returned to his old times at Hogwarts more than two decades ago, the best days of his life.

Before he went to Hogwarts, Lupin never had friends.

When he was four years old, his father offended Fenrir Greyback, a Werewolf. In retaliation, the Werewolves attacked him. Since then, he has become a werewolf.

Because of this identity, everyone was hiding from him. Wherever he went, he faced discrimination. Lupin still remembers asking his father why he did so, but his father did not say anything, just holding himself silently crying.

At that moment, Lupin secretly vowed that he would never cry again no matter what he encountered.

Before he was eleven years old, his life was dull and colorless.

Lupin thought that he could not go to Hogwarts like other children, and other parents wouldn’t want their children to warm to a Werewolf. But then, Dumbledore gave him hope.

Dumbledore ordered a willow to be planted in the school grounds and used grounds and used it to conceal the passage to the Hogsmeade Shriking Shack.

Whenever he had a full moon night, he went there.

That was to protect the safety of other students, because after his change, he became very brutal, Hogsmeade villagers heard noises and screams and thought it was a fierce ghost. Dumbledore encouraged people to spread such rumors so that people stayed away from Shrieking Shack and to protect everyone’s safety.

Lupin still remembers the days when he was afraid that his classmates would know his identity. He concealed this secret from everyone.

With every full moon, he had to pretend to the students that he would visit his sick mother or something like that.

Then he came here alone and became a brutal monster in the Shrieking Shack, slamming, ravaging and howling in the hut.

Although he tried hard to hide it, several classmates quickly guessed the truth of the matter.

At that time, Lupin felt that he was definitely doomed and he would certainly be driven out of Hogwarts and return to life without color.

But James Potter, Peter Pettigrew and Sirius Black accepted him and became his first friends in life. They even went to study Animagus for this purpose. After the fifth grade, they would come to stay with him every night of the full moon.

They stuck with him though those years in Hogwarts. With their presence, Lupin didn’t feel bad about becoming a Werewolf.

He’s always wished that time froze at those moments.
