Forgive? Yan Su felt lost.
She raised her head, and with misty eyes, she tried to see that familiar face of his more clearly. She tried to touch him, but once her fingers moved, her mind pictured him rolling on a bed with another woman.
She had lost her virginity too.
Once, they were both young. They carefully promised each other the best of themselves, yet that was long gone.
A while later, she nodded. “Okay, Shi Xiang, I forgive you.”
Shi Xiang smiled excitedly. However, what she said next, froze his smile.
“But we can’t be together anymore.” Yan Su pulled his hands off her shoulders and said, “Imagine, if one day I slept with another man to obtain a better life, would you tolerate it?”
Shi Xiang’s pupils shrank. He hurriedly shook his head and said, “You wouldn’t do that. Su, your family is rich, and you’re proud. You’d never do something like that.”
“Yeah, my family is never short of money, but in order to be with you, I gave up everything. In my earlier college years, I sang in a bar for money, but I was happy. Some people offered me things to sleep with them, but I rejected them without hesitation. I’d rather exhaust myself with work every day. I wouldn’t be able to start my career as a singer if I wasn’t so lucky. I wouldn’t give up on my bottom line, even if I couldn’t become a singer. I don’t care if I’m popular or not, because I can always do another job. The entertainment industry was never my only choice.”
Yan Su said sadly, “I’m sorry, Shi Xiang. We have chosen two different paths long ago. We are not meant to be together. I’m glad that you told me the truth eventually. It helped me realize I’m not entirely a failure. You can leave now. I wish you a bright future and I’m sure you’ll find a better girl than me.”
“No!” Shi Xiang panicked. He reached out and pulled her into his arms, holding her tight.
“Su, don’t be so sure. Give me a chance.”
After saying that, he lowered his head to kiss her.
Thinking about him and another woman, Yan Su couldn’t help but dodge his kiss. “Shi Xiang, I’m gonna scream if you don’t stop. My assistant is outside, and there’re reporters downstairs. Letting people know about this will do you no good.”
Shi Xiang froze.
Yan Su pushed him away and said, “Leave.”
Shi Xiang didn’t move but stared at her with red eyes.
Behind the door, Jiaojiao was getting anxious. Shi Xiang had been in the room for quite a while. She didn’t know what the two of them were talking about.
Her brain was working nonstop at that moment. She recalled Yan Su’s strange reaction that occurred every time she heard Shi Xiang’s name. She figured they might know each other.
They weren’t together, were they? The idea made Jiaojiao excited. If it became news, the entire entertainment circle would be stirred. It would be shocking.
At that moment, Mo Liuxi walked over from the other side of the hall, with one hand resting in his trousers. He made the hallway look like a fashion runway.
Looking at him, Jiaojiao was dazed.
“Why are you standing here?” Mo Liuxi asked as he walked up to her.
“Oh, I’m… waiting for someone. Some reporters are coming to interview Su, and I think they might not know her room number.” While speaking, Jiaojiao looked around. She mustn’t let Mo Liuxi know that Shi Xiang was in Yan Su’s room.
Mo Liuxi crossed his arms before his chest and said with a bland tone, “Just tell them the room number. You don’t have to wait here, do you?”
