Chapter 2805: Can’t Find the Way
Everybody stared at Elder Mei in astonishment.
What was that supposed to mean?
Mr. Xu asked the question for them. “Elder Mei, what do you mean the path is hard to find now?”
The collapse had stopped, but it was only temporary. They knew the next wave would start soon.
Elder Mei seemed troubled by the question.
He slowly said, “The formation in the Secret Essence Mine is beyond complicated. Solving it has been much harder than I expected.
“I thought the area I explored would remain safe, but when the formation changed, everything changed with it.”
Mr. Xu asked anxiously, “Is this formation forever changing?”
Elder Mei nodded.
“We’re finished…” Mr. Xu began to howl.
If the formation really did that, they would have no way to get out.
...Sun Yu and his teammates panicked. “Why is this happening? I thought we were…”
Mr. Xu glared at them. “The formation has changed! It means the paths have changed with it! We need to find a new way out!”
Sun Yu was speechless.
The others were anxious as well.
“What should we do now?” They all looked at Mr. Xu and Elder Mei.
Mr. Xu said, “It took us days to find that path, but now…”
Boom!
Something worse happened.
Their tunnel finally began to collapse.
Mr. Xu paled. “It’s coming! The tunnel is coming down! Elder Mei, what should we do? We’re going to be buried!”
Elder Mei’s face was drained of all color.
What should he do?
“I can find the way out if I have two more days, but now…”
Elder Mei turned in the direction of the noise.
The rumbling was getting closer and closer.
They didn’t have two minutes, let alone two days.
Elder Mei looked at them. “You have two minutes to write down your last words.”
Last words?
Sun Yu was almost in tears. “Last words? We’re about to fight Military College! Are we going to be wiped out?”
Everybody panicked.
Elder Mei waved at them. “Write down your last words, and people may dig out the papers later.”
He then started on his own.
Sun Yu suddenly smacked his forehead. “Wait! DIdn’t Feng Wu give us a little paper crane?”
“That’s right!” Wang Xiao nodded. “Feng Wu gave us a paper crane! She said it would lead us out of here!”
Mr. Xu found his words idiotic. “Do you seriously believe her?”
Elder Mei wanted to roll his eyes as well.
When one’s life was threatened, people would stop thinking straight and might even become delusional.
Let it be. They were going to die, anyway.
Sun Yu took out the paper crane.
The crane flapped its wings and flew forward.
“Little crane, can you take us out of here?” Sun Yu was full of hope.
Elder Mei rolled his eyes again.
Sun Yu grabbed his arm. “Let’s go. Maybe it really knows the way out.”
Elder Mei didn’t have any hope at all.
He found the whole thing nonsensical.
Wang Xiao took Elder Mei’s other arm. “Standing here will get us killed! Follow that bird, and maybe we still have a chance!”
