Lan Ning unknowingly was taken away by the story told by Ye Cheng: 'You mean the wife of the 40 years old hero was actually the heroine?'
'Yeah.' Ye Cheng smiled. 'This is a very brave girl. As the story says, she is not sure that she will fall in love with her man when she is 40. And if she is only 20 years old, she will love him but she still does not hesitate to go. Fortunately, the outcome is completely different.'
Lan Ning did not say anything. Ye Cheng continued: 'Time is sometimes so wonderful. If you have met me a nd I am not 20 years old, a mature man with a lot of good books written under my pen name like Teacher Xing Xin, would you have chosen me?'
Lan Ning felt a little touchy. She does not know if it is because of the story or because of Ye Cheng's remarks. She was slient for a while. At last, she just looked at him: 'There is not so much if in this world. The realistic fact is I have met you and you are only 20 years old.'
Ye Cheng chuckled: 'Yeah….' He actually envied the heroine in the story. At least she had a time machine and a last chance.
The concert had already begun. The atmosphere in Xingguang Park is very warm but it cannot completely dissolve the stiffness between Lan Ning and Ye Cheng. Lan Ning thinking about this stage, she is not likely to go for dessert with him again. Since everyone has made it clear, then it is better to end this embarrassment.
'I'll go back first today. I am sorry….' Lan Ning said to Ye Cheng. She apologies and before he responded, she turned and went in the opposite direction.
Ye Cheng looked at her back and then he shouted: 'Editor.'
Lan Ning paused, turned and looked at him.
Ye Cheng kept quite for a moment. The corners of his mouth evoked a familiar warm-warming arc: 'One day, I will become a master as well.'
One that will not lose to Teacher Xing Xin.
Lan Ning was stunned, and then laughed together with him: 'Oh. Great! Go for it!'
The weekend, because of having to reject 小鲜肉 Ye Cheng, Lan Ning was also emotionally affected for two days at home.
