Chapter 3

Zi Yan Qingran

“Then, if you don’t mind, I want to change my clothes.”

An JunYue looked at the empty-handed person in front of him. He didn't appear to be carrying any bundles, so he took out his own clothes from the cabinet and handed it to him. An Jun’s clothes were all light-colored, mostly white and blue. He handed Liu Li a set of white clothing.

When An JunYue saw that he had taken the clothes, he didn't speak. He lowered his head and carefully arranged the child's hygiene.

Liu Li took the clothes and thought, 'I need to change, but I can't imagine changing in front of this person.'

“Just take it off.  It’s ruined anyways.” An JunYue murmured as if to give Liu Li permission to undress. Then Liu Li realized he was talking to the baby.

Liu Li looked at the person in front of him thoughtfully. He had never seen anyone who was not influenced by the fox demon’s innate charm of seduction, but his scent was unchanged…

Liu li simply took off his clothes and changed in front of him. He saw that An JunYue had no reaction, and was calm and indifferent like usual. Liu Li's mood brightened for no reason; he was used to the desires and evil intentions expressed by human beings and other creatures that were faced by him. Unexpectedly, he had met a person who could get along with him calmly and it felt pretty good.

An JunYue didn’t know what Liu Li was thinking and he didn’t care. He just carefully took all the dirty clothes off of the baby, set them aside, then he wiped the baby clean with a clean cloth towel and put the slippery little kid onto the quilt.

An JunYue casually took off his dirty robe. He had ignored it just now because he needed to attend to the baby, but it was uncomfortable for him to wear dirty clothes, so he took out a new light blue robe and put it on, before he turned to look at Liu Li.

An JunYue didn't like complicated clothing, so he wore a simple undergarments and robe style. Liu Li was even simpler. He directly skipped the undergarments and wore long trousers and a jacket with the belt casually tied around his waist. The slightly larger neckline revealed his delicate clavicle and white skin, the white color of the robe reflected Liu Li's charming grace while adding a touch of ethereal atmosphere. Liu Li didn’t care about this at all and An JunYue, accustomed to modern people’s revealing clothes, had no reaction.

“What is this?”  Liu Li asked as he pulled a jade pendant out of the pile of the child's dirty clothes.  “Qing Ran… The calendar is September 11th.”

“It’s his name and birthday.” An JunYue recalled that in a book he had read before, it was mentioned that the children of influential families all had this kind of 'Ping’an' jade which they wore from childhood. It was a kind of folk custom.

“It’s March now, so the child is one and half years old.”

“By the way, my name is Liu Li, what is yours?”

Liu Li was curious about this man. 'Is he a scholar? Why hasn't he introduced himself? It's human courtesy, isn’t it?'

“An JunYue.”

An JunYue smiled faintly and said nothing more.

“Mom…Mom…”

Qing Ran was unhappy to be neglected and wanted to climb out of the quilt.

“Don’t call me mother again!”

Seeing that Qing Ran was crawling in his direction, Liu Li hurried past An JunYue,  pushing him to the side.

“Don’t come over again, I won’t hold you!”

An JunYue was somewhat surprised by Liu Li's sudden contact. He didn’t like to be touched by others, but Liu Li had only pushed him a bit so An JunYue didn’t feel too uncomfortable.

An JunYue wrapped Qing Ran in the quilt, and seeing the child so wholeheartedly trying to reach Liu Li, made a realization rise up in his heart. This child had a relationship with that person; it seems that he wasn't fated to have an apprentice of his own…

“You’d better hold him or he'll cry again.”

“Damn it, why does he have to call me mother!”

Liu Li indignantly embraced Qing Ran and tried to save his hair from the small hands.

” Why doesn't he call me dad instead?"

“Because you are beautiful.”

To An JunYue, there was no doubt that Liu Li was more beautiful than any of the so-called beautiful women he had seen before, so he had said so.

Liu Li blinked and looked at An JunYue with big eyes. 'What does he mean? Suddenly saying something so frivolous… But he’s so serious, like he’s just stating the facts.'

Liu Li thought that An JunYue was very strange. 'Is he really a human?'

“Dad…”

Qing Ran was dissatisfied with being ignored, and while holding his “Mother's” hair, he reached out for his 'Dad'.

An JunYue looked at Qing Ran and thought about it. He put his finger into the small hand and saw the short fingers grab one of his fingers with great effort. An JunYue smiled a little; this child also had some fate with him.

An JunYue could see that Liu Li actually liked Qing Ran very much, otherwise he wouldn't be disturbed by the child's upset mood.

Might as well help them. An Jun Yue’s cultivation called for fulfilling one’s desires and being unrestrained, so he just acted upon his thoughts.

“This place isn’t far from Bei Quan city, if Liu Li doesn’t mind, this humble one could send the two of you there? This one could also help take care of Qing Ran for a bit.”

Liu Li looked at the bright little guy who was smiling at him in his arms and smiled helplessly. 'In the end I picked it myself and I'm self-reliant. Although he’s a human child… Forget that. Let's keep it.'

“In that case, I’ll have to trouble An Gongzi.”

With a gentle smile, An JunYue got up and closed the door. Then, he took the reins and drove the carriage in the direction of Beiquan

An JunYue drove his carriage all the way to Bei Quan City. Bei Quan was a large, prosperous city because it was located on the main road of traffic. Many people stared at him on the way, but being naturally polite, An JunYue asked for directions and drove straight to the largest ‘Jing Quan Mountain Villa’  which consisted of several small courtyards of various sizes and was the preferred temporary residence of businessmen.

When An JunYue drove to the entrance of the inn, there was a diligent servant who helped him pull the carriage. Seeing that there were many diners in the inn, An Jun Yue did not want to attract attention, so he expressed that the servant could directly arrange a clean and elegant courtyard.

At that moment, a sudden cry came from the carriage and the door was pulled open to reveal Liu Li's embarrassed smiling face. In his arms, Qing Ran was crying miserably as he flailed both hands. Liu Li whispered to An JunYue, “It’s nothing, "I only pinched him gently on the face after I watched him fall asleep…"

“Wah…Dad…wah…”

However, it was obvious that Qing Ran would not give him face and struggled to be held by An JunYue.

“Go ahead, I’ll arrange it.”

An JunYue looked at them with a faint smile and whispered a sentence. The two bright red fingerprints on the small white face were clear and An JunYue knew that Liu Li's `gently’ was an obvious understatement…

“Oh……”

Liu Li should have answered honestly. He carried Qing Ran back into the carriage and closed the door. He sat on the mattress again, feeling uncertain: how could he have obeyed the words of a human stranger?

'Was it because he looks more mature?'

Liu Li impatiently held on to the struggling Qing Ran, and began to rub his little face with indignation.

“Because of you, I was laughed at by him…”

He was rewarded with a louder cry, and, with a guilty conscience, he hurried to carefully hug and coax Qing Ran with a smiling face.

An JunYue heard Qing Ran crying louder outside and knew that it must be Liu Li bullying him again, so he could not help laughing lightly. 'This Liu Li is like a big child.'

“Gongzi, your wife is so beautiful! Your little son is also pretty.”

The young guy blushed and looked at the closed door, before sighing as he smiled at An JunYue.

“Yeah, it really is the truth”

The guests agreed one after the other until An JunYue momentarily became the focus.

“… Oh, thank you. Would you please take us to where we’ll be staying first? The baby is still crying."

An JunYue didn't know what to say for a moment, nor was he interested in explaining anything to these people. He simply diverted his attention.

“Yes, yes, This small one will take the boy over!”

The servant reacted and hurriedly took the carriage, then led An JunYue towards the side door.  An JunYue politely smiled at the people who were watching him, and followed the man.
