While Ye Xiu Ming was having his usual bickering with Fang Xiu Qing at the court, suddenly something bad happened at his manor: Old Madam fell sick.
Although Ye Xiu Ming appears to be very strict at court, but there is still something that will make him falter, and that would be the Old Madam. The both of them were married since young, climbing up to their current position now. Passing through all the wind and rains, their relationship is very strong. Later, when Ye Xiu Ming slowly climbed up the ladder, his family also grew bigger. However he has never taken in any concubine, and was loyal to his wife all along, eventhough she has only given birth to one son. Luckily their son was blessed with three sons and a daughter, their family is considered to be complete as well. Old Madam has always been regretful that she did not manage to give birth to a cute daughter, so when her granddaughter arrives, she was treated like a treasure. Everyone at home knew, Ye Xiu Ming was afraid of his wife, therefore if Old Madam dotes on Zhen Zhen unconditionally, no one will dare to say no.
Ye Xiu Ming was a known tempered person, but who knew his wife would be more temperamental than him, no matter how big the Ye family grew, she was still able to take care of them properly, eliminating any worries at home for Ye Xiu Ming.

She truly loves her grandmother, when she was young no matter what mistake she made, as long as she cries a little in front of her, her father will no longer dare to punish her, it works everytime, and her brothers does not have such benefits. Although she grew up already, but infront of her grandmother she will always be a little child. This time around, hearing the her grandmother is very ill, Ye Zhen Zhen was feeling very anxious, despite being in the palace, her heart has long gone flew back home.
Ji Wu Jiu noticed her being restless, so he comforted her, “I have already send the best Imperial doctor to visit the Old Madam, she would be alright, don’t worry too much. If one got cured and another gotten sick, what should we do then?”
Ye Zhen Zhen nodded blankly
JI Wu Jiu sighed “Go back and visit her, don’t say that I am cold hearted” It was not that he was not willing to let Zhen Zhen go home to be filial, its just that he was afraid that this women will forget to miss him, after returning home.
After obtaining Ji Wu Jiu’s approval, that day itself she ordered everyone to get ready and returned to Ye Manor.
Because she left in a rush, she did not manage to inform her family. The moment the Ye family saw the empress arriving, everyone immediately went to greet her. Although she was from Ye family, but she still has to accept the formal greeting.
Before meeting with her grandmother, Ye Zhen Zhen first went to see her grandfather, her tears were already streaming down her face upon seeing him. Grandfather’s energy seems to be low, and lacking the charisma that he always has, his hair seems to be completely white soon too. He wanted to greet Ye Zhen Zhen too, the moment his knees bended, Ye Zhen Zhen immediately held him up, “Sir, there is no need for greetings, how is Old Madam doing?”
“Still having fever, everything that she has eaten this past few days, was all vomited out as well”, Ye Xiu Ming answered while shaking his head, his eyes turning red. “Just now, hearing that the empress arrived she regained some energy, and was struggling to get up from the bed to greet you”
“Quickly bring me to see her”
Ye Xiu Ming immediately led Ye Zhen Zhen to the room, the room was filled with herbal medicine’s smell. On the bed, Old Madam saw the person who arrived, sat up and called “Empress”, Ye Zhen Zhen has already went forward to push her back down to the bed, “Grandma!”
The pair of grandma and grandchild cried the moment they met. Ye Xiu Ming left the both of them to talk, and retreated out. After leaving the room, there was nothing to do so he was left wandering around the garden. Looking upon the trees, he came to a realization, all this years she has always been by his side, if she left him he really won’t know what to do. But thinking back again, if they both can’t leave together at the same time, and one person has to stay back to feel the pain, he would rather be the one to stay back.
Thinking till there, he let out a sigh. A human’s lifetime is really not that long, no matter how powerful you are, the person whom has always been by your side would be the only thing that you will miss.
Ye Zhen Zhen accompanied her grandmother to conversed for a while and made her laugh a little, seeing that her mood was better, she served her the medicine and laid her to sleep.
From then on, Ye Zhen Zhen continued to stay at Ye Manor. She understood what the imperial doctor said and knew that it was hard to say whether her grandmother will be able to hold on. So her heart did not want to leave at all. Eventhough….. really can’t, she should also be by her side until the last moment. Ye Zhen Zhen originally wanted to serve the medicine herself, but Ye Xiu Ming was considering her status and did not allow her, so everyday Ye Zhen Zhen just accompanies by Old Madam’s side to make her happy.
Ye Xiu Ming also purposely wrote a report to Ji Wu Jiu about this matter: Your wife is taking care of my wife, she can only go back after a while.
The moment Ji Wu Jiu saw the report, he knew this would happen. For an empress to stay for so long at her maternal family, was not really matching the rules, but looking at the situation now, and that Ye Xiu Ming’s face was bigger than the rest of the other people, and he was not willing to let Zhen Zhen sad, therefore no matter what is the rules, he nodded and agreed.
At court, without Ye Xiu Ming’s arguments, it made Fang Xiu Qing felt that it was rather boring and down.
Ji Wu Jiu was down too— wife was not beside him, how can he not be down. He was staying at Gan Qing Palace, so lonely and quiet; and when he went to Kun Ning Palace, it was still quiet and cold. At night, he slept at her bed, his heart can’t help but to miss that person, to the point that he will call our her name in his sleep. He knew that he loves her, but did not know that he will love her till this point. It was like the moment she left, his soul got up and followed her.
Everyone says, men likes new and abandons the old, that is because they have never met that person. If there is that one person that matches your appetite, until your entire body’s hair also feels comfortable, matches until the point where you will miss that person eventhough you just tasted her lips.. if you have met such a woman, will the other women even enter your eyes?
This type of woman was bliss, but also the end.
Ji Wu Jiu was lying on top of the bed in Kun Ning Palace, with his eyes wide open looking at the ceiling of the bed. He finally realized what it felt like to be a woman waiting for her husband to visit.
Old Madam Ye was sick, not only the emperor allowed the empress to return home to visit, he personally went to Ye Manor to visit as well.
This type of blessings, only Ye Xiu Ming will have this the honor of receiving them, many people were envious though they did not say much.
Ji Wu Jiu sat infront of the Old Madam for awhile before getting called out by Ye Xi Ming. Somehow being the emperor means that you will carry a charisma that will suppress common people, an ill person is weak, and to be visited by the emperor like this, most probably they will feel even worst.
Ye Xiu Ming, invited him to the main hall. Ji Wu Jiu asked about Old Madam’s illness in detail, and said a few comforting words and bestowed from medicines. Ye Xiu Ming was very grateful and knew that Ji Wu Jiu came because he missed Ye Zhen Zhen, therefore he wanted to call Ye Zhen Zhen over as well.
JI Wu Jiu though, said “No Rush, this time, I came because there is something else I want to discuss”
“Yes, your majesty?”
“When I was fighting against Nu Zhen, sir has gifted me a piece of Silk Shirt. Who knew that this shirt has become the clue to kidnap me, when Zhen Zhen was captured by the enemy, because she was wearing that shirt, she was misunderstood as me by Duo Duo Wu La Tu.”
Ye Xiu Ming was a smart man, hearing those words his face changed immediately, he kneeled down and said, “Your Majesty, my loyalty to you can be seen by the skies and god”
Ji Wu Jiu pulled him up, “Your loyalty, I know well, if not I would not ask you personally as well. I have confirmed that the news of the silk shirt was leaked out from your manor, I hope that Sir would be able to think properly, who was involved in this matter”
“There was only the people who delivered it”, Ye Xiu Ming replied, and suddenly looked up, “No, there is one more person”
“Who?”
“It is my student, Bai Jian Cheng, previously he was always at the borders, but now he is the right assistant of the Minister of Rites. The silk shirt was originally gifted to me by him, that time when he visited me previously, I accidently told him”
JI Wu Jiu understood, it was surely not an accident, Ye Xiu Ming wanted to tell someone about it, so next time he can say he made some sort of contribution. The ministry of rites was under Ye Xiu Ming, to place his own student as the right assistant, was a great sign that he was guiding him. JI Wu Jiu closes his eyes and said “Bai Jian Cheng?”

Ye Xiu Ming got a little shocked, he didn’t know that Ji Wu Jiu will change the topic so fast, brushing his beard, “Why would I be afraid of her, she is not a tiger. I am only doting on her, and listens to everything she says. This is not being afraid of my wife, this is doting her”.
