There were many people on the streets, shoulders brushing againsts one another, Ji Wu Jiu was afraid she will get lost in the crowd, so he has been holding her hands all along, he also did not want other men to touch her, so he place held her shoulders to him as well, almost pulling her into his chest.
On this day, there would definitely be the lantern riddle games. At the north side of the capital, there was a stage for lantern riddle games, it was organized by a rich merchant from the capital, he was very generous and the winning prizes made many people drool. The level of the riddles are separated into 4 from easy to hard, for the hard levels, you would need to place a wager, and if you got it the prize would be very satisfying, for the lower levels, you would not be required to place any wager, but of course the gifts are not as nice as the hard level. The emperor and empress was standing in front of the stage, guessing the lantern riddles, but who knew that they would almost win away everything that the store has, making the merchant’s face paled, thinking that he would be in a huge loss this rime. To be honest, what items has Ye Zhen Zhen never seen before, she didn’t really want those gifts anyway, so she only chose a few nicer ones and returned the rest. So even after winning away their items, the merchant still need to thank them a lot.
Ji Wu Jiu only took a pair of fish jades, the first is actually linked to one another, but it can be separated, there is a red string at the fish’s mouth to be placed on the waist as an ornament. Ji Wu Jiu separated the two fishes, placed one on himself and another he gave to Ye Zhen Zhen, but afraid that she will not wear it, so he personally tied the fish on to her waist. Su Yue, Wang You Cai and Feng You De who was standing beside them, had the same thought in mind: This is a public place!
They strolled till the river side, here there were people releasing the Kong Ming Lantern. Su Yue bought a lot, Ye Zhen Zhen and Ji Wu Jiu were releasing them by the river side together. The Kong Ming Lantern is made with a layer of thin red paper, it is not in a shape of the normal lanterns, but it is a big headed round shape, after lighting the fire inside, the whole lantern will admit a bright orange light, looking almost like a giant orange. Holding on to the lantern by the river side, Ye Zhen Zhen released it and looked at it slowly going up the sky, thinking that it looks like a firework that will never vanish.
Ye Zhen Zhen subconsciously waved her hands at it.
Ji Wu Jiu was holding the Kong Ming Lantern, but his eyes were at Ye Zhen Zhen. She was looking up now, her snow white face was lit with a warm orange light, her side profile very gentle, her lips opened half, her eyes bright like no other, without blinking looking at the lantern that was going further and further, her expression was in an innocent daze although her gaze does not appear so.
Ji Wu Jiu’s heart suddenly shook, it seems like the whole world has left him like the retreating water tides, as for her, red as fire, bright as light, gentle as mist, making him feel a numerous feelings in his heart at the same time.
Ji Wu Jiu subconsciously holds on to his chest, and looked at Ye Zhen Zhen like a fool.
Ye Zhen Zhen turned and saw his expression, although in a daze his eyes were extra ordinarily bright, so she smiled at him “You are not playing?”
Ji Wu Jiu threw away the lantern in his hands, walked towards her and held both of her hands in his.
“What’s wrong?” Ye Zhen Zhen looked at him.
Ji Wu Jiu did not answer. He looked down, and his lips were already gently placed onto her forehead, both of his eyes closed, with his long eyelashes vibrating softly.
The lantern on the floor rolled a few times, and struggled to fly up at the end, passing by the both of their faces, and flew up to the sky.
The night sky was suddenly filled with thousands of fireworks, with all sorts of colours, almost lighting up half the sky.
