Chapter 1 - Nine Turns of Exquisiteness is the Number of Drunk Worlds
IF YOU ARE ALSO WATCHING THE DRAMA, Lost Love in Times. This first chapter will not follow the drama adaptation’s first couple of episodes. China has banned time-traveling in their cdramas, so the production team had to take out the time-traveling part. Thus the production team created the first time phase and the second time phase. The drama does not have this first chapter! ~~just in case you are wondering why this person is called Ning Wen Qing (at least for now).
Ning Wen Qing comes home to a dark and empty house. Using almost her entire body's worth of strength, she kicks off one of her high heels as far as possible, with the heels landing onto the expensive redwood floor with a light sound. She stands in the dark for a short while, and then slowly kicks off the other high-heel, and walks towards her bedroom in her bare feet.
The floor is slightly cold and stepping on the floor feels as though she is stepping on light icy water. Outside the window, the moonlight shines like the exquisite decoration on a layer of a hazy veil, quiet but with a strange feeling.
Ning Wen Qing did not feel the need to turn on the bedroom lights, but instead sat down by her bedside, pondering what she had just seen.
The looks and words that Li Tang and Xu Fei Fei had shared with each other just now hovered in front of her eyes again. Those deep looks. . . yes, she can confirm they were filled with deep emotion. However, those looks also disgusted her very much.
There is no other reason as to why those looks disgusted her, simply because Li Tang is her husband-to-be and Xu Fei Fei just happened to be her friend. What a rotten story, she thought, as she witnessed this entire scene happen before her while standing in the parking lot holding her newly-purchased wedding dress.
Does her heart hurt? She quietly asks herself. Yes, there's definitely a bit of a heart ache, but not because she had seen the two of them being so close together, but because of the words that she had overheard Li Tang say: Once Ning Wen Qing and I get married, half of the Ning family stock ownership will be within my hands.
Her heart hurt not over the affair between her friend and her boyfriend, but rather over the fact that Li Tang was actually this kind of person. Ning Wen Qing thought she had found a perfect fiancee: handsome, refined, free-spirited, romantic, suave, talented, considerate, humorous, and generous. When they were in school together, he was the glory of the school. When he began to work, his career achievements were amazing that even the CEO of the Ning family business (who had eyes of an eagle and tons of experience reading into people) praised that this future son-in-law was "not bad" and that his daughter had a good eye for men.
Looks like he wanted to marry half of the stock ownership of the Ning family business, and not the actual person Ning Wen Qing. His solemn pledge of love was only for Ning stock ownership to be heard, and not for Ning Wen Qing. His sweet words were sung towards Ning stock ownership, and not for Ning Wen Qing. He only showed love and kindness because he wanted the Ning stock ownership, and not for Ning Wen Qing ……
Ning Wen Qing blinked her eyes and sniffled a bit but very oddly, no tears fell. Hadn't she fallen in love with Li Tang at first sight during college? Realistically, shouldn't she cry and throw a tantrum for a bit? Wouldn't that be a more normal reaction?
She unconsciously played with the tourmaline bracelet on her wrist, her heart full of sadness. She did not feel any need to be hysterical, but her heart has now been completely numbed by the reality of it all.
She lightly laughs at herself. People shouldn't be too in tune with reality, especially women.
I will try to translate the second part of the first chapter as soon as possible. It has the part where Ning Wen Qing sets up all these stones and time-travels back in time and becomes Feng Qing Chen. The language here is a bit confusing to translate, (and oh gosh I don’t even know the names of these stones in English! lol) so that’s why I had to break up the chapter in half.
