At this hour in the night, the people of Qingshui were all deep in slumber, having their sweet dreams playing in their heads.
However, it was different for Ling Yun. He had made his way to the opposite side of the Shichiyou Herb. Looking across the river, he noticed a white figure.
It was a snow-colored fox. Just by observing, Ling Yun was able to deduce its gender. The fox's eyes were cast in the direction of the Shichiyou herb.
At this moment, the white fox seemed as if it realized Ling Yun's presence. It scurried off in a hurry, leaving nothing but a breeze.
Ling Yun chose to do nothing, allowing the petite creature to take its departure.
As the water level dropped further, Ling Yun predicted that by that night, the Shichiyou Herbs would be visible, given the decline in water level.
He could feel an increase in the strength of his spiritual energy, stronger than what he had felt earlier during the storm. After praying for the weather to stay the same, Ling Yun stood up and began practicing his Dayan Great Stars Technique.
He went on with his training for the next two hours until the sun rose. From the riverbank, he made his way to grab three people's worth of breakfast and hurriedly got on his journey back home.
Just as he was about to enter the house, he could hear sounds from inside. Zhuang Meifeng and Lin Menghan were having an argument.
"No! You are not allowed to take this box away! Ling Yun brought this box here so you have to gain his permission before doing anything to it!" Zhuang Meifeng lashed out furiously at Lin Menghan.
"This box is a crucial piece of evidence against the culprits from last night! I have to bring it back to the station! I cannot allow my efforts last night to go to waste!" Lin Menghan rebutted.
"Whether or not this box is a piece of evidence does not concern me at all! All I know is that this box was brought back by Ling Yun! So you require his permission before taking it away!" Zhuang Meifeng stood firm.
Still standing outside the door, Ling Yun was happy and amazed by his decision of choosing Zhuang Meifeng as his wife. He was delighted at Zhuang Meifeng's decision to speak up for him without any hesitation.
However, Lin Menghan was yet another stubborn woman.
"By the time Ling Yun returns home, I will be late for my work! Can't you just let me bring this away?" Lin Menghan uttered.
"I'm back!" a firm and resounding voice was heard. Ling Yun appeared thereafter.
Zhuang Meifeng's mood had a sudden change. The infuriated look on her face was no longer seen. Instead, a cheerful grin was all over her face. "Darling, Lin Menghan wants to take away this box that you brought back earlier."
Lin Menghan's faced paled. She was flabbergasted by the word 'Darling'. She had to suppress the jealousy and envy burning inside her heart.
Passing the takeaways he had brought home to Zhuang Meifeng, Ling Yun cast his fierce eyes on Lin Menghan and ushered her to leave. "Get out!"
Ling Yun could not decipher this lady standing in front of him. What kind of education system had she gone through to not understand what he just said? She was so abnormal!
"Ling Yun, this box is really a very significant piece of evidence for me. I have to bring it back to the police station no matter what…" Lin Menghan explained her stand in an agonizing tone.
"This is the last time I'm going to repeat myself! Put down the box and get out of my place!" Ling Yun commanded.
That left Lin Menghan startled again. Never had she expected Ling Yun to become so cold-blooded towards her all of a sudden!
What have I done wrong? I put myself at risk just so that I can collect this piece of evidence, yet he does not allow me to retrieve it?
Even Zhuang Meifeng was surprised. After all, Lin Menghan was a gorgeous lady that held a model-like figure. Her naked body had been seen by Ling Yun already, yet, he was not emotionally attached to her at all! Did he not feel guilty for lashing out at her?
Ling Yun was not in the mood to feel bad at all. His temper was at its peak, at the brink of eruption. Anymore argument from Lin Menghan would send him into a flying rage, like the green monstrous Hulk from Avengers!
After staring ferociously into Lin Menghan's eyes. He changed his direction of gaze towards Zhuang Meifeng. "The new clothes that I've bought for you, why did you let her wear them? Make her change out of them before I chase her out!" Ling Yun was harsh with his tone.
Zhuang Meifeng was upset that she had been brought into the argument. Rolling her eyes at Lin Menghan, she walked over to Ling Yun's side and whispered gently. "Why do you have to flare up? Is she even worth it?"
The second question had been mentioned solely for Lin Menghan to hear.
"You...!" Lin Menghan rebutted, but without much to say. She had never been reprimanded or shouted at so badly before. She couldn't believe how cruel and ruthless Ling Yun was towards her now! Tears were about to flow out of her eyes.
Change back to my own clothes? They've already been torn so badly! How can I even wear them back?
"I thought that after going through so much, you would become smarter and less clumsy! Turns out I was wrong! I should not have saved you last night and I should've left you to be violated by those ruffians! At least you would learn your d*mn lesson after that!" Ling Yun exclaimed.
He picked up her share of breakfast and threw it out of the house into the rubbish dump. "You can wear this set of clothes out. But please remember to pay me for it! It costs at least five million dollars! Now get out of my place!" Ling Yun added as if he hadn't been ruthless enough.
Turning around, he put his hand around Zhuang Meifeng's waist and they made their way back into the room, nonchalant about the verbally-insulted Lin Menghan who was in an utter state of despair.
"You… You're bullying me!" She shouted out loud as a waterfall started to pour from her reddish eyes.
Yet, Ling Yun did not turn around. "Are you hungry? Let's get back and have our breakfast, then a short nap!" he said as he smiled at Zhuang Meifeng.
"Okay!" an agreement by Zhuang Meifeng followed after. She was pleased with Ling Yun's gesture.
Lin Menghan had given up. Ling Yun did not even bother to persuade her. She broke out in tears as she ran away, no longer concerned about her box.
"Darling, are you really angry at her?" Zhuang Meifeng queried after Lin Menghan's unpleasant departure.
"Why would I waste my energy getting angry at her? I just cannot believe how stupid she can be! Her brain must be filled with glue!" Ling Yun shook his head.
After preparing the dinner for her darling, Zhuang Meifeng gifted Ling Yun a delicate kiss on his cheek before asking a question, "Darling, but what exactly is inside that box?" She got curious.
Happy to receive the kiss, Ling Yun decided to change the topic. "Did you just call me your darling? We are not married yet, are we?" he claimed.
"Are you trying to avoid responsibility now?! You did me in twice last night and viewed every single inch of my body. Are you going to act as if nothing has happened?" Zhuang Meifeng stared at Ling Yun in a confused state, before feeling embarrassed by her own words.
If not for Lin Menghan's sudden appearance, Zhuang Meifeng would have been Ling Yun's woman last night. Thus, Zhuang Meifeng rightfully assumed her role as his wife before Ling Yun himself had agreed to it.
"You are so different from my first impression of you! You looked like a cold-blooded and emotionless person when I first met you."
"I'm only this way to you" Zhuang Meifeng smiled blushingly as she admitted to her change in personality.
If only Lin Menghan was half as easy to manage and talk to, things would not have become so troublesome and complicated!
Placing his palms on her chest to caress her assets, he felt the tenderness and bounciness of her breasts! "Let's tuck in!"
The couple enjoyed every moment of their breakfast before Ling Yun started to talk about the box. "It's all money inside. Plenty of money! So stay home and take care, alright? I'll head to school now!" Ling Yun said.
