By the time Bai Suqing found Zhou Sulun at the parking lot, he was still in a dazed condition. How in the world could such a pure girl exist? She was just like an angel…

"Mr. Zhou?" Bai Suqing called out sweetly, her eyes large in her skinny face. Translated by The Novelst

Zhou Sulun reacted just a half-beat slower, looking at Bai Suqing and pulling on a smile. However, somehow his excitement at having a dinner date with Bai Suqing had cooled a bit.

Zhou Sulun pulled open the car door for Bai Suqing like a gentleman. Just when Bai Suqing moved to enter, something pulled her attention away and she paused in her actions. Her gaze was looking attentively toward that scene.

Ou Kaicheng was actually very annoyed with this kind of stuff. He looked at the junior in front of him shyly proffering a present with anticipation. In the last half year, the number of letters he received from girls in the 12th grade had decreased and his love confessions shrank to zero. He was just basking in the peace but unfortunately there were still quite a lot of students from the 10th and 11th grades who still came to confess, irritating him.

However, Ou Kaicheng didn't really know the real reason behind the plummet of confessions he received from 12th graders. There was a rumor going around that Ou Kaicheng had a crush on Mu Rulan, so they were all self-aware enough to know that Mu Rulan wasn't someone they could take on. Although there were many who still refused to give up, they didn't dare act on their feelings in public, scared that their peers would laugh at them.

The students in the 10th and 11th grades didn't know about this rumor, so in that case his love confessions were still coming without pause.

The ice in his eyes didn't waver as he scanned the young girl before him who was eagerly awaiting his response. Without any hesitation, he strode away and left her standing without even a word.

Unconsciously, Bai Suqing slowly smiled, her gaze full of disdain as she stared at the girl left behind, obviously upset and embarrassed.

……

Mu Rulan was in an excellent mood. She even told Chen Hai not to come and pick her up, planning to walk to the K City hospital on her own.

She took the leisurely stroll down the road, the sun shining brightly down on her, the breeze lifting her hair. The corner of her mouth was quirked upwards, making an attractive sight for the people who walked by her.

Mo Qianren was driving his car slowly alongside the pedestrian walkway, his gaze observing the young girl. When she encountered a beggar on the roadside, she would take out her pocket change to donate. When she saw the elderly trying to cross the road, she would lend them a hand. She also liked to play with the children. All the places she passed through were left with smiles on peoples' faces.

This girl…

She really, really enjoyed her life; or rather, you could say that she seemed ardently in love with life.

Mo Qianren's brow furrowed. Once again he'd encountered something new about this girl that conflicted with the image he had of her in his mind. He was renowned internationally in the fields of criminal psychology, anthropotomy, and other such related fields. All these would allow him to read a person's body language and understand their way of thinking. However, he was actually unable to discern whether or not this girl was lying, or if everything was just an act?

Maybe this was why Mo Qianren was unable to stop himself from observing Mu Rulan.

This young girl presented a challenge to him in his most accomplished and beloved fields.

He wanted to dissect this abnormal girl…

He stepped on the gas, speeding up to Mu Rulan's location, the car window rolling slowly down.

"Mr. Mo?" Mu Rulan looked surprised at encountering him at such a place, before a gentle smile overtook her face. "What a coincidence."

"Where are you heading? The hospital?" Mo Qianren stared at her as if he knew her deepest parts.

Mu Rulan looked back at him, her bright eyes sparkling clearly as if reflecting her very soul: "Nope, I'm going to Loulan Court."

"Alright. Do you want a ride?" Although he asked this, he was already unlocking his car door.

"Sure," she smiled. Translated by The Novelst

Mu Rulan was already a regular customer, so almost all the workers of Loulan Court knew her. But they were surprised this time to see a handsome man walk in with her. Normally she kept the company of a few people – either her driver or her younger brothers. It was the first time they'd seen her with a stranger – and a man, at that.

The manager came out to greet her personally, smiling and leading them to the second floor. There was a special room, exclusively kept for Mu Rulan at the top floor, because Loulan Court was one of the Ke Family businesses. Mu Rulan was celebrating her 15th birthday the year before when her grandfather had gifted it to her as a birthday present.

The room was very clean, illuminated with a warm yellow light, the thin curtain pulled open to reveal the scenery outside. There were a few sprightly green plants in the corner, drifting a fresh, elegant natural smell throughout the room.

Mo Qianren was dressed in a simple suit, both his hands inside his pockets. He looked distantly at the girl who had been seated, leafing through a menu. From her appearance, he noted that her attitude seemed easygoing, not showing any discomfort at having a stranger intrude into her time.

"Does Miss Mu have no wariness?" Mo Qianren said, walking to take the seat opposite Mu Rulan.

Only then did Mu Rulan raise her head from perusing the menu to look at Mo Qianren, a faint smile hovering at the edges of her mouth. "Is Mr. Mo saying that I should stay away?"

"Have you heard about Jin Moli?" Mo Qianren changed the topic all of a sudden, his cold gaze staring intently at her like he was trying to crack her act to have a peek inside.
