This is how the novel looks like. If I didn't see the ML on the cover I wouldn't have guess it had romance in it. It seem to me a other book of I am a Daughter of series .In Korea thanks to the success of the only Daughter of the emperor a boom of I am a daughter of books came out from this genre.So I wasn't too crazy about it .The webtoon didn't even look that good.
Also I didn't care for this author or artist at all. When I say artist I mean the novel and webtoon.
I also wasn't too into the author other books this author wrote . Not a fan of the artwork.It pretty but i don't care for it.
So it took me years to getting around to read it and I got really into it when I first started this blog.
I was planning to pick it up since I was reading it .Then I found better novels so I dropped it .
This novel is pretty fun as it divide into two parts childhood arc and adult arc like most of the I am a child series. However It also has more magic in it compared to the other "I am a daughter "novels.
The magic sets it apart from it other rivals .The novel is quite detailed and became quite famous in its own right with its complicated background .Unfortunately the novel and webtoon lost to it rival in popularity .See?should have picked a more mainstream artist. I guess you win some and lose some.
The First Arc -Fluffy family arc with sadnessHi I am a Kazan (no name) my mom calls me pink eyes but Guess what I am from Korea!

Our MC is a daughter of a vulgar abusive prostitute who got pregnant with the duke child.
She often starves her daughter and locked her up in a box when she is busy.One time she forgot about her and she almost drowns in the box when it rains .The good news is our MC manage to grow up well thanks to her past memories of being a cherished daughter in Korea with cute dog and sweets.
Then one day her mother sells her to a cold man with red eyes. -_-
"She is your daughter."
"Do you have proof ?"
“Give me ten thousand gold.”
“I’ll give you 20,000 gold. Instead, take your hand off this.”
The MC dosen't think she is his birth daughter .Her mom has so many men and she looks nothing like him.She thinks he brought her as a maid but when she gets to the mansion She treated like a princess! There she gets a care of a mother from her nanny Annie who replaces her mother in her life.
The father even gives her a name Estelle as in star. There was a misunderstanding between them as they thought the other person didn't like them. It gets resolved very quickly.She then really became a child of this house thus the title.The twist is the father knew she was his daughter as soon as he saw her pink eyes but acted cold so the trashy mom will backed off. She also have a brother Carlos, who looks like a mini version of the dad who also dotes on the MC.This story is the opposite of the Emperor only daughter or suddenly a princess as it filled with sweetness from the start and gets bitter as it goes on while the other novels start out bitter and get sweet later as the relationship improves.
Spoilers bewareShe also gets a tutor named Heidel Cretuz who is helps explain stuff to us readers. Then there the knights working under the dad who also dotes on her as well as the servants.the father tells her to chose one knight to be her bodyguard and she choose Amel a knight who good at explaining to her and is comedy relief. He was my favorite character in the first arc but I honestly had no idea who the male lead was as there so many candidates the prince , the brother friends ....etc She just too popular!
It turns out the Castiello family is the only duke in this country and related to the king.They have so much stuff ans terrible personalities so they have so many enemies.One of the things they own is a soul mine gem which can be used to create magic items.they aren't even human!
That why they have reds eyes and have strong magical powers. They are part of a demonic race that dosen't like humans by instinct but Estelle as a child of this house is a mixed race thus the pink eyes.She has powers but is friendly with humans and making her a prime target for evil people with sinister motives as they are too cowardly to face a pure blood considering them monster yet the cute MC is easier target. She also able to enter the royal family as her family is consider monsters so they can never be allow to rule but she is consider human enough so the royal family also approach her.She is the most desire bride thanks to her unique background therefore she always in the center of the political circle. This is her fate as a child of this house! The magic tower is full of evil magicians who enslave people using magic especially children who are used against the soft hearten to lower their guard so they could get their greedy hands on your personal items so they could curse you. I guess this is also comes with being a child of the Castiello family as they are rich and powerful but so many enemies are out to get her. She has to take the good with the bad I guess. She goes through a lot in this novel series more than any other daughter in other similar novels. Her mother dose come back for her to leech off her but she gets thrown away and never mention again.It is implied she gets murdered.
The adult arc is Dark but has romance so pick your poison.
Skip it you can end it with fluff but continue there is passion and darkness.
The childhood knight becomes her her suitor .He suffers from mental anguish as he can never protect her from kidnapping and torture . Then there are times she suffers a lot and cough up blood shocking him and the readers .I normally disapprove of such a gap but I feel he suffered a lot for her.he even fights a prince who attempted to rape her .
There are so many times he thinks she dead .She had many suitors in the stories so in a way she had a reverse harem but she does chose one guy . I must say her her pink eyes brings her tragedy as well as happiness as they are too rare .There was only three other people who had them and their stories are so sad. I had to skip it since it was getting too dark for me. It gets more political as the story goes on and more fantasy elements are introduce like dragons and faeries.
More novels from I am a daughter of "something "series.
They all share this in common.
They seem fluffy and light hearten .
They are really messed up if you think about it.
There so many novels with dads doting on their daughter
No male lead can hope to beat the father in popularity I fear this is where the"I am a daughter of" series suffers.The adult arc is never as fun as the childhood arc .The romance is also never good as the family arc either.The father and brother is the best men in the world so how can any male lead hope to compete with that? I notice this fatal flaw as I read quite a bit in this genre.I will make more post about these other books later. All of the novels get a bit darker as it goes on .Only the beginning is fluffy with the doting dad . Then you realize that the MC is forced to act cute and hide their true nature to win the dad over.
The I am a child of this house is one of the darkest one in this genre but not the darkest.
It does end in a happy ending and there a sequel about her brother.
