A Melodramatic Plot (2)

Lu Chenghe reached out to pet the dog's head. Seeing Little Pudding foolishly and happily looking toward himself as he smiled, his lips couldn't help but curl upwards into a smile. Afterwards, he tore a piece of meat jerky from inside a box that was off to the side: "Why did you come here today? If you wanted to find me to have a meal, it's still a bit early right now."

Lu Chenghan's smiling expression vanished: "The third grandpa's descendant has been found."

Lu Chenghe, who was in the middle of feeding meat jerky to Little Pudding, looked at him: "What do you mean?"

Lu Chenghan walked over to the sofa and sat down. Picking up the teacup that the steward had sent over, he drank a mouthful before he said: "In those years, third grandfather hadn't said that he'd left behind a son. At that time when third grandfather passed away. My grandpa actually sighed as third grandpa had been lonely all his life and didn't manage to leave behind someone with his blood running through their veins. Only, we didn't expect that just earlier, I came across a child who had the jade pendant that great-grandfather had given to each of his sons hanging on his neck. That child said that the jade pendant was left behind for him by his father. He said that it was reportedly passed down by his grandpa and then his father set it aside for him before he passed away."

The third grandpa Lu Chenghan spoke of was exactly the only one of their grandfather's generation to serve in the military but remain a bachelor all his life. He didn't even leave behind anyone in the next generation and at that time when he passed away, it was, nevertheless, Lu Chenghan who came to break the pot. So now that someone who could possibly be third grandfather's descendant had appeared, it really did make Lu Chenghan somewhat surprised.

In those years, third grandpa was a bachelor his entire life but it wasn't that there were no rumours. They said that he previously had a young lady like that but in the end, that young lady had died and afterwards, third grandfather was all alone in the world for her. If that rumour was real, it might be that during that chaotic period of war, some kind of misunderstanding was brought about. However, if that child was truly of third grandfather's blood, then they definitely wouldn't let him wander about outside.

Lu Chenghe naturally also thought like this: "Has it been confirmed?"

Lu Chenghan shook his head: "Looking at his appearance, he doesn't resemble us at all. However, we've already taken his hair to verify."

After speaking, Lu Chenghan spoke again: "That child currently doesn't know, and I haven't told him to avoid what would happen if the test result said that he isn't related. He isn't that old and has just started his first year of university. As of now, he's working at a club as a part-time job and that club was considered to be legal. After the results have come out, we can look at making arrangements then."

During the Lu's growth up until today, generation after generation, there would inevitably be the kind of people who weren't interested in business. In addition to them being split by industries, even if they were the Lu family corporation overall, it was also possible to see each of them as independent companies as all of the assets were independent. However, each year, according to the annual income ratio, funds are transferred to the group’s family fund. This portion was for giving stock dividends to those people of the family's younger generation who had other occupations.

If that grandson of third grandfather was recognized, those who control the entire Lu family corporation would certainly compensate for what they've done on behalf of third grandfather during these years. In addition, they'd give that child a bit of capital and a portion of an industry. Afterwards, what was left would still be paid according to the corporation's dividend distribution for its family fund.

However, it was a pity that third grandfather had already passed away. If not, knowing that he had a grandson of his own, he would likely be awfully happy. However, the prerequisite for this was that child truly being his grandson.

Zuo Ning laid on Lu Chenghe's leg in silence, listening to this melodramatic gossip about the aristocratic. He'd thought that that kind of storyline about blood-related family wandering about outside was only in TV dramas or possibly in novels. He never expected that now, it would actually happen near him. However, he himself had already changed from a person into a dog, so this melodrama was probably rather normal in comparison.

Hearing them discuss how they should arrange things if that person was truly of the Lu family's blood as well as how much was suitable to give him as compensation on behalf of his grandfather who had passed away, Zuo Ning felt that reincarnation was truly technology's work. As long as the identification came out, that youngster who was reportedly working a part-time job could immediately go from having nothing at all to being someone who'd won in life based on his birth.

Zuo Ning subconsciously stuck out his tongue to lick his paw because of this kind of melodramatic storyline.

Before he could even sigh, his paw was slapped by Lu Chenghe. Although it didn't hurt when he was hit, Zuo Ning still felt wronged and looked toward Lu Chenghe: "Ying…" Why'd you hit me?

Lu Chenghe pinched his paw with a serious expression: "I've said that you're not allowed to lick your fur. Are you still obedient?"

Zuo Ning looked down at his paws that had been hit and that just a moment ago, he involuntarily licked. He grumbled and shrunk back. He was obviously listening to the gossip too earnestly which made him act before thinking. It would be fine if you just said it. It wasn't like he couldn't understand it so what did you hit him for?

Zuo Ning, who suffered from being hit, came down from Lu Chenghe's body. His head was buried in the gap between Lu Chenghe's back and the sofa.

Seeing this, Lu Chenghe laughed and grabbed him out of there: "You feel wronged? You were hit too much?"

"Awoo!" I took a beating yet I'm not allowed to feel wronged, this is hegemony!

Lu Chenghan, who was on the side of Lu Chenghe and hadn’t spoken, unexpectedly and suddenly smiled as he uttered: "You two are quarrelling?"

Lu Chenghe looked at Little Pudding and smiled coldly: "He doesn't have any other skills. He only knows how to be meek and civil in public, but a tyrant at home."

Zuo Ning refuted this by barking and then after he closed his mouth, he stuck out a bit of his little tongue. With great effort, his little head looked up toward Lu Chenghe and his expression simply showed that he wanted a hug. If it was accompanied by words, it would definitely be a bit like a tactic.

This caused Lu Chenghan to smile: "Your dog is spiritual, right?"

Lu Chenghe also somewhat didn't know whether to laugh or cry, and he didn't know where this little expression was learned. He reached out to poke the little tongue he'd exposed: "Only you are odd." After speaking, he straightforwardly hugged him back into his embrace and grabbed his two paws to knead and pinch.

Seeing the interactions of this person and dog, Lu Chenghan suddenly said: "Let me borrow Little Pudding for a while, okay?"

Hearing these words, Zuo Ning's fur was about to explode. Feeling scared, he immediately threw himself into Lu Chenghe's embrace and used his paws to tightly hug his neck. He just knew it. With him being so wonderful, people would definitely covet him!
