Ning Shan beamed with a radiant smile as well. Wu Daozi — a household name and face — came all this way to their palace just in the hope that her son could officially acknowledge him as the master; the prestigious medical sage Sun Daobai also arrived to extend his cordial gratitude to her son. Having witnessed such mighty honor be granted her son, she was utterly immersed in the buoyant vibe.
She wished only if she could have gathered the ladies who always run their mouths about her. She wanted to show them her son was by no means good-for-nothing as they said.
Sun Daobai smiled at Xu Wenchuan and said to Wandong with a serious look on his face, "Yaoting, just name anything you want. You are entitled to anything I can provide."
According to what Sun said, Xu Wenchuan assumed he was ready to spend a fortune tonight. Though Xu found there was no need to do so, he didn't intend to turn Sun away as he insisted on it. Moreover, Sun Daobai did have a couple of priceless treasures. Xu Wenchuan started to dwell on an assessment of these treasures, trying to figure out the one of which Wandong was in an urgent need.
While Xu Wenchuan was pondering over Sun's gifts, Wu Daozi rose all of a sudden, his eyebrows knitted, with anxiety displayed in his countenance. He attempted to say something but bit his tongue several times, terribly embarrassed and inhibited.
"Mr. Wu, you got something to say?" Xu Wenchuan hastened to ask him curiously on spotting his awkwardness.
Initially, Sun Daobai attached his attention to Wandong in full and failed to notice Wu Daozi's presence. Seeing Wu stand up, he went startled and greeted Wu immediately,"Isn't this the famous chief instructor Mr. Wu at the Academy of Formation Methods?"
Wu Daozi nodded and said in a somewhat emotional tone, "I've heard a lot about you and wished to meet you for real. I didn't expect I was granted such a hard-won honor to meet Mr. Sun here."
Sun Daobai hastened to greet him with his hands cupped in one another and said, "I'm so flattered to have your compliment. As everyone knows, Mr. Wu is the equal of a hundred-thousand-soldier troop. I was the one who is honored at this meeting instead."
"Hahaha…You two guys, please do not carry on with your mutual flattery. As you became intimate at the first meeting, more gatherings are in order from today. You got loads of time to meet. Senior Sun, I bet you had never expected that Mr. Wu came today for the purpose of having Yaoting as his disciple, " Xu Wenchuan said with another wave of laughter.
Sun Daobai went struck dumb by Xu's words. He looked back at Wandong and Wu Daozi, bewildered. He couldn't come to the terms with the fact that Xu Yaoting was so incredibly versed at formation methods that Wu Daozi — a unanimously recognized master in this regard — even picked him as a disciple.
Sun Daobai was shocked, so was his Granddaughter Sun Xiaoya. She asked Tang Xinyi slack-jawed, "Sister Tang, is this a result if my deafness or the whole world's bizarreness?"
Tang Xinyi let out a wry smile, as she was still in a daze, not knowing what to do. She shook her head and murmured, "I supposed it's the world."
"Good lord! That's insane. Senior Wu, do you know you are blemishing your authority? You could pick anyone you like rather than this fellow, " Sun Xiaoya uttered a strident cry.
Wandong felt offended and responded with his eyebrows knitted, "Xiaoya, can't you show a bit of decorum? Remember that I'm senior to you. You're supposed to refer to me as your brother rather than a random fellow."
"Boo! Wanna you make me call you brother? Dream on!" Sun Xiaoya said angrily.
Wandong let out a smirk and said, "Fine. You let go of the opportunity I gave you. Granted you pleaded with me to be your brother, I would take no notice."
"You're asking for the moon! I will satisfy you if you wanna get beaten right here," Sun Xiaoya cried, extremely offended. She could bear the sight of Xu Yaoting's demeanor. Hence she had fit on hearing his request that she call him brother.
