Xu Wenchuan felt as if his soul had left his body out of sheer astonishment, not to mention Tang Xinyi.

He had seen hundreds of pieces of the blood steel piling up like a hill, but such a surprisingly high output was an unprecedented experience for him.

He couldn't help but wonder how his grandson made it, eyes running down Wandong for ages.

"Zong Qi, I assume the blood steel is of great significance to you, am I right? You even risked your life to go off with one piece. Well, choose ten pieces as you like."

Casting a glance at Zong Qi, Wandong beamed radiantly.

"I…I…can't take it! That's way too overwhelming for me!"

Zong Qi declined his goodwill in an agitated tone.

"Overwhelming? Hahaha, spare me! They are nothing but reddish stones for me. You find ten pieces insufficient? Then you can, by all means, take twenty, thirty, all the way up to your heart's content."

Tang Xinyi lifted her head and looked at the sky on hearing Wandong's unbridled laugh.

How come he could persist in his flamboyant manner when he was actually seriously wounded?

"Well, I assume I'm supposed to say thank you then."

Zong Qi did need the blood steel a lot. Nodding, he came forth and fetched only one piece.

Wandong, as a matter of fact, felt tempted to inquire Zong Qi about what he was gonna do with the blood steel. But he caught himself immediately, as it might be a private matter.

"Yaoting, are you able to screen the raw stones simply with your eyes?"

Astonished for a moment, Xu Wenchuan raised an inquiry, eyebrows lifted.

"It seems so," Wandong had long seen it coming, letting out a laugh, winking at Tang Xinyi, "But I've no idea what it was. Perhaps it had something to do with my narrow escape from Death's visit."

"You kidding? A narrow escape could usher in such a momentous change? Xu Yaoting, you might as well put me down for once."

Xu Wenchuan held Wandong's narrow escape to doubt as well, but he couldn't figure out the mechanism, either. The only thing he could say for sure was that it must be an endowment granted by heaven.

Whatever it was, he felt pretty pleased with his grandson.

"Well, Yaoting, you picked all the valid raw stones, then…then Qiu Yunchong…"

Face brightened up, Tang Xinyi cast earnest eyes on Wandong.

"Yes, you're right about it! Qiu Yunchong laid out six million kilos of gold on nothing but  a bulk of barren stones. I didn't leave even a single valid one to him!"

Wandong struck in with waves of laughter in midsentence.

"Ah! Yaoting! That…That was super cool!"

She let out waves of screams right after Wandong finished what he said. Though she was several years Wandong's senior, she retained her maiden-like innocence.

Yelling and bouncing, she wished if only she could drag Wandong in her arms.

"Commander Tang," looking at her reacting in ecstasy, Wandong grinned, "Are you still mad at me? You still find me a Mammonist?"

"Exactly! You're the greatest Mammonist ever! You conjured up ten million kilos of gold out of the rubbishy barren stones, isn't that a mammonist's doing? But…I like it anyway…Hahaha!"

"You like it? What is it?"

Leng Yuecui struck in in spite of herself, feeling pretty offended by her sensitive statement.

"Little maid, you know what I mean!"

High in spirits, Tang Xinyi felt like teasing her, laughing.

"Humph! Who do you think you're referring to? I'm mature okay? You are insulting me!"

"Hahaha…"

All present found Tang's prank on Leng pretty hilarious, letting out waves of laughter.

Leng Yuecui felt rather embarrassed under the limelight, crimsoning. Her bashful girlish charm, compounded with the lovely moonlight adding spice to her beauty, ushered in a resemblance between her and Mulian, Wandong's fairy queen.

Slack-jawed forthwith, Wangdong couldn't help but allow the long-repressed affection for Mulian to pop out like a wild flood, inundating his mind with bitter reminiscent for his love.
