Wandong's behavior greatly provoked Qiu Yunchong's bodyguards.

"Damned mobster, who are you? How dare you wag your tongue so freely? You wanna have a rebellion?"

Wandong simply took them as useless clowns. He put on a grim look, sneering.

"Well, I think you got it wrong. It should be the other way around. You're rebels!"

Being Qiuyunchong's underlings, the guardians didn't take any notice of Wandong. Yelling in a forceful tone, they dashed at Wandong.

However, Qiu Yunchong knitted his eyebrows and stopped them.

The bodyguards didn't feel like letting Wandong get away with it.

"General!"

Qiu Yunchong forced them into submission with his eyes running down the showing room. The bodyguards stepped back into the squad, eyes downcast.

Qiu Yunchong had to tread carefully — Xu Yaoting was a royal relative after all. He dared not fall afoul with Xu on a whim at least.

"Are you Xu Yaoting?"

Wandong let out a laugh.

"Exactly! What a surprise! Childe Xu, you still remember me! I didn't expect that at all! You know you are always occupied with state affairs."

Wandong was fully aware of Qiu Yunchong's preference — he felt pleased when referred to as General Qiu. However, Wandong deliberately referred to him as a dandy, in a bid to fight back.

Qiu Yunchong slightly knitted his eyebrows with a tinge of dissatisfaction popping up in his countenance.

However, he managed to hold it back and made a response under his breath.

"Childe Xu, what a coincidence! I didn't expect you here."

"Humph. I doubt that! Childe Qiu, didn't you come to arrest the annoying troublemakers? For your information, I'm just one of them! Then I'm supposed to be captured. How come you see it as a coincidence?"

Apparently, by no stretch of Qiu's imagination had he ever expected the terrible complexity of the issue. He looked slightly startled.

"What?"

Wandong sneered and pointed at the Qing Yun warriors. They were literally close to death.

"Childe Qiu, there is no need to confront them. They are nothing but regular Qingyun fellows. You should come at me instead. I made all that happen after all."

Qiu Yunchong knitted his eyebrows and looked back at Duan Lengyan.

"Miss. Duan, please throw some light on it."

Here came the highlight of the whole story. Qiu Yunchong turned to neither Wu Qiujun nor Pi Xiong for an explanation. His intention was clear enough — he tried to please Duan Lengyan at full capacity. Though Duan already gave him a knock-back in the very beginning, he still wouldn't let go.

Perhaps, Qiu Yunchong was a spoony?

Duan Lengyan felt at her wit's end.

"Er..."

That was such a long story that she could hardly put it in a few lines. And, it was, at no time, proper for her to shun the responsibilities. Granted that she was quick-witted, she could barely put together a plausible response.

Right then, Wandong struck in.

"Childe Qiu. What 's wrong with you? Aren't you supposed to inquire the victims about the whole story? How come you went to the perpetrator instead? It simply stands to no reason at all."

Wu Qiujun almost leaped up out of fury on hearing that and made an outburst forthwith in spite of himself.

"Goddamned lad! Who is on earth the victim? You're aware of that!"

The unprecedented loss of the Tianbao Mansion already grieved Wu Qiujun to the full. However, Wandong accused them of the whole thing.
