The Tianbao Mansion retrieved its quietness after the Qingyun warriors left. Wu Qiujun finally came back to his senses.

He dwelled on what happened today, only to find that he had never had an upper hand in his confrontation with Wandong. He only managed to avoid humiliation by virtue of his superior martial cultivation. If it could have been termed as a tie, he procured it in a coercive manner — it was hardly presentable.

In addition, Wandong's sophistication and intelligence sent chills down his spine.

"I truly underestimated you! Slippery lad, you surely did an amazing job!"

Wandong cast a glimpse with hatred on Wu Qiujun, wishing to kill him right away. Actually, he had long planned to absorb Wu Qiujun's spiritual energy to its last bit. Now he even couldn't wait to do that.

"Old coward! I shall bring you to justice with my own hands. You hear me?"

Hardly had Wandong's voice faded away when a laid-back voice came off from the outside.

"Aha! Who is that? He really talks big! Aren't you afraid it would prolong your nose as Pinocchio? "

In the meantime, a slim and tall guy strode inside in a leisurely manner, flanked by a couple of bodyguards.

Wandong knitted his eyes right after the guy entered his sight, pulling a long face.

He knew this guy. To be more exact, Xu Yaoting knew this guy. And Xu Yaoting dreaded him a lot. He was Qiu Chong, the only son of the State Preceptor Qiu Wanli. Apart from Bai Die, her royal highness, Qiu Chong was literally the sole prince of the Qingyun Empire.

However, this guy was simply a mirror image of his dad — he indulged himself in bureaucracy hefty political achievements. Under normal circumstances, he didn't mess with dandies like Xu Yaoting that much.

Additionally, in his early life, Qiu Wanli tasked him with the work on defending the western frontier — Fenghuo (it literally means beacon fire) City. He was appointed as a defense general, responsible for deterring the invasions of the West Turk (a nationality in ancient China) Kingdom. His long-term absence widened the gap between him and Xu Yaoting.

Qiu Wanling attached loads of importance to him. Hence, Qiu Wanli did everything he could to cultivate his son. Meanwhile, Qiu Chong worked quite hard and eventually measured up to his father's expectation.

In his early thirties, Qiu Yunchong already became an outstanding military star, boasting numberless achievements in war. He even earned a reputation as the West God of War lately, neck and neck with Xu Tianlong, the East King of Defence. Of Course, Qiu Wanli had done quite a bit of work of public relations to win credit for his son. However, Qiu Yunchong wouldn't have risen to his current social status if he hadn't worked hard.

Though Xu Yaoting had long made Qiu Yunchong's acquittance, it was the very first time that Wandong had met him face-to-face. With a glance, Wandong could tell that Qiu Yunchong was a capable figure.

First of all, Qiu Yunchong boasted a seven-grade martial capacity of the spiritual energy. He already left behind the competitors for the Qingyun Martial Rankings to a great extent.

Secondly, Wandong sensed an indiscernible smell of blood on him — Qiu Yunchong wouldn't have had the smell if he hadn't engaged many life-or-death battles.

Wandong learned that Qiu Yunchong always took the lead in wars. Hence, his troops were able to conquer their enemies with laudable morale even if they were at a disadvantage.

However, Qiu Yunchong still retained a dignified bearing after so many battles he had engaged. That was truly hard to come by.

Therefore, he was a big figure whatever way one put it.

As a matter of fact, Wandong should be pleased — there was such an outstanding youngster in the Qingyun Empire. However, Wandong's heart sunk as Qiu Yunchong supported the Tianbao Mansion.

Wu Qiujun went up to greet Qiu Yunchong, beaming radiantly, "General Qiu, it's such a surprise to see you here!"

Qiu Yunchong responded with a smile as well. However, he fixed his eyes on Duan Lengyan only, with mysterious sparkles popping out of them.

Qiu's behavior brought a bit of relief to Wandong.

"If he backs up the Tianbao Mansion to please Duan Lengyan, it would be much simpler. At least, he is not yet in collusion with the Tiezhan Empire."

Boasting such a striking prestige, prominent family, and good looks, Qiu Yunchong was a collective dreamboat of many girls in Yunzhong City. However, Duan Lengyan seemed to have given him a knock-back. She didn't show her hatred toward Qiu Yunchong out of good decorum. However, Wandong still managed to pick up on that by means of the power of his Taoist energy.
