Wandong deemed it advisable to verify his speculation. If the scarlet rays had nothing to do with the blood steel, it would be an unforgivable waste to choose simply by means of his Taoist energy. Though Wandong had no itching palm, he hated to let the Tianzhan guys take advantage of the raw gemstones.

While Wandong was wracking his brain to figure out how to verify the scarlet rays, Duan Lengyan let out a grim laugh on seeing him scrutinizing the raw stones and hesitating to take actions.

She said in a sarcastic tone, "What's the wait? For your information, the raw stones that contain the blood steel give off scarlet rays. They are powerful enough to reach the sky."

"What?" Wandong exclaimed on Duan Lengyan's offering an unsolicited hand, thrilled to the brim.

Seeing Wandong's enthusiastic look, Duan Lengyan went bewildered. Then the previous irony that only hid in her tone struck conspicuous in her countenance. She burst out into waves of grim laughter and said, "Don't tell me you think you have a rare superpower or X-ray-like eyes that enables you to spot the rays?"

Shaking his head, Wan Dong disregarded her mockery and hastened to ask, "Just tell me whether you told the truth or not."

"Lunatic!" Duan Lengyan responded on seeing Wandong's reaction, which was close to insanity. She almost fell for the speculation that Wandong already spotted the special scarlet rays. However, she soon denied that as she simply found it a tale from the Arabian Nights. Hence, she told him off and turned away.

"You…" Wandong went speechless out of desperation. He was dying no make out whether she told the truth.

Right then, Leng Yuecui cut in in a serious tone, "I learned from my family that scarlet rays do radiate from the stones that contain the blood steel. However, it was those who boast supreme wisdom that has what it takes to spot them."

Leng Yuecui's words reignited Wandong's hopes. Eyes brightened up, Wandong asked, "Yuecui, are you certain of that?"

"Of course! Have I ever kidded with you?" Leng Yuecui pouted and said with disappointment. She felt a bit displeased as Wandong didn't have full faith in her. However, a kind-hearted girl as she was, she still added some supporting information, "My grandma knows a master who has a superpower of that kind. He could single out raw stones that contain the blood steel without effort."

Wandong was fully aware that the Lengs were associated with the Taoist world. In that case, the master she referred to must have come from the Taoist world.

"Superpower? For God's sake, that was pure nonsense! It was by virtue of their Taoist energy that the Taoist guys are able to tell valid raw stones from the barren ones. I can verify that with my own capability to do that, as my Taoist cultivation can hardly count as the initial level of the Taoist world," Wandong thought to himself.

Leng Yuecui's information set Wandong's mind at rest. Then he felt entirely refreshed, feeling like dancing in ecstasy. It felt as if the whole world had changed all of a sudden — it became transparent as Wandong brought his Taoist energy into full play. Clusters of scarlet rays, thick or thin, bright or dim, darted forth and changed the color of the whole showing room. The iridescent scene sufficed to take one's breath away.

Seeing Wandong fixed his glazed eyes at the stones again, Duan Lengyan managed to hold back her desire to slap him hard and asked, "Hey! Are you done with your stare? I'm not as leisurely as you are to waste my time here."

However, Wandong hesitated for a while as he felt at his wit's end. Based on the 10 percent output rate, given that there were about five thousand raw gemstones in the showing room, there were supposed to be at least five hundred that contained the blood steel. Looking around, Wandong found that there were indeed no fewer than five hundred gleams of scarlet rays.
