"Let's postpone it for the time being, Ye Mei is our priority now," Wandong said, eyebrows knitted.
"Ye Mei? What happened to her?" Wu Yang asked.
Leng Yuecui put on a cold look and said, "Since Xu Yaoting taught Xiu Wei a harsh lesson yesterday, the Xius all flared up. They turned to Jin Mu for help to place Ye Mei over the barrel. Ye Mei seemed to have been informed beforehand and escaped. Her whereabouts remain unknown."
"Outrageous! Xiu Wei is asking for death!" Wu Yang burst out cursing on hearing that.
Wandong said with a low-pitched voice, "We'll set the old scores with the Xius later. Now we have to find Ye Mei as soon as possible. It's likely that the Xiu's may make another attempt. Ye Mei would be at a disadvantage if they get the hold of her."
"But the Yunzhong City is so immense we can hardly put our fingers on her," Wu Yang said in anxiety.
Wandong felt the same, "If she does hide away, it will be by no means easy to find her in such a huge city."
"Are you Ye Mei's friends?" A comely-looking girl approached them and asked vigilantly, while the three were feeling agitated.
Feeling dreadfully anxious, compounded with the fury that had stayed with him since the duel with Jin Mu, Wandong turned his head abruptly and scared the girl to step backward.
Leng Yuecui rolled her eyes at Wandong and told him off, curling her lips, "Don't behave in such a threatening manner! You almost freaked her out!" Then she pushed Wandong aside and walked up toward the girl.
"Hey, yup, we're her friends. And the malicious-looking guy is her cheap sworn brother," Leng Yuecui introduced.
Wandong smiled wryly and thought to himself, "You may as well just refer to me as Ye Mei's brother. Why the fuss to add cheap to my title?"
Being soothed by Leng Yuecui, the tinge of fear finally faded away on the girl's countenance. She said, "Ye Mei went to rescue her sister along with her friends."
Wandong raised his eyebrows and asked out of bewilderment, "Well, Ye Mei has a sister?"
Leng Yuecui nodded and said, "Yes, her sister's name is Ye Ling. Ever since Ye Mei was accepted by the Qing Yun Martial Art Academy, Ye Ling tagged along to the Yunzhong City. She keeps a small store to take care of Ye Mei as well as make money for Ye Mei's tuition fees. It was fair to say she has fulfilled the responsibility as sister and mother. She worked so hard!"
"My! You just said Ye Mei went to her sister's rescue. Could it be said Ye Ling is in danger?" Leng Yuecui came back to her senses and asked the comely-looking girl.
The girl shook her head and said, "I am not informed to that extent. Ye Mei went off in a haste and didn't get around to saying anything."
Wandong got nervous forthwith and asked Leng Yuecui, "Do you know where her store is?"
Leng Yuecui hastened to nod. Wandong said, "Let's hit the road!" After a few steps forward, Wandong suddenly paused and looked over at the girl, "May I have your name? You saved my ass. You deserve my reward for that!"
"Ah? There is no need at all. I'm her friend as well, but it's a pity that I am a martial outsider. Otherwise, I could go with her to save her sister," she said and went off.
Seeing her breeze away, Wandong felt a bit spaced-out. Leng Yuecui let out a slight hum and asked, "Xu Yaoting, are you taken with her?"
"What?" Wandong asked, still zoned-out.
Wandong's absent-mindedness only reinforced Leng Yuecui's speculation. She rolled her eyes at him and curled her lips, "I can tell! You unfaithful bastard. You hit on every girl you meet as always."
