Chapter 6: The Method to Skillfully Kill Him -1- (The Request to Amano)

(T/N: CAUTION: Amano’s straight-forwardness is top-notched in this chapter so be prepared for some harsh words towards a girl.)

※This is a work of fiction. Any resemblance to any person or organization you know has no relation whatsoever.

There is a terrace on the second floor of the student’s school cafeteria at a certain university.
That terrace is the favorite spot of the school’s troublemaker, Amano Yuuji.
During lunchtime, you can see him eating bread on one hand while he smoked his cigarette.

His nickname is “Genius Asshole”.
At any rate, his personality is terrible.
He’s a savage sadist that enjoys putting other people to shame, giving discomfort to other people, and treating them like a fool.

Even so, he was the top student of the Medical Department and had excellent grades.
Being too excellent of a student, the lecturers couldn’t rebuke him.
They could only eagerly hope that he quickly graduate, or perhaps even drop out of school; anything was fine as long as the days go by quickly.
That day, in front of Amano was an unusual woman.
She was Kishino Machiko, a second-year student from the English Literature Department.
Since just now, Kishino’s face was distorted as she bawled into tears.
Her handkerchief was soaked with tears.
It was even soiled with her snot.
She cried to the point that she couldn’t let go of her hands.

While the Genius Asshole stared at the woman, inside his head he thought, ‘What a pleasant sight. I want to see more scenes like this,’ while he inwardly chuckled.

“What a terrible guy. I understand your feelings well.”

Amano looking sympathized nodded, and patted the girl’s head kindly.
It was a gentlemanly yet unusual act coming from the Genius Asshole.

“He’s terrible, isn’t he?! I used up all my savings for his sake, you know! It must have been around the amount of one million yen (around $8,899)! Whether it was his guitar or for the sake of his band, even though I lent all my money, the fact that he had another woman?! And yet… and yet!”

The woman wailed with a loud voice.

“After I found out about it, he threw me away and dumped me! He said he has no use for a woman that has no more money! Saying that he’ll be living with the new woman! Despite the fact that I really devoted myself to him! I even aborted my child for him! He’s the worst! He’s too terrible! I will never be able to forgive him!”

While Amano outwardly nodded his head in understanding and with sympathy, inside his head he was thinking, “What a stupid woman. To give money to a guy and then getting dumped, it must be because of her low intelligence.”

“Amano-san, please! He… no that piece of shit… please kill that shitty bastard!”

“Killing him… you’re talking about something extreme here. I can’t become a killer, though.”

“But, I won’t be satisfied until he’s killed at least!”

“Well, I guess so. Yeah, I understand well.”
While Amano repeatedly pretended to sympathized, he observed the figure of the pleading woman.

She was a plain woman.
She had on thick glasses that looked like it was sold in a 100 yen shop.
Her hair that was braided into three braids seemed to lack nourishment and had split ends.
The cardigan she had on had stains scattered about and not one spick of cleanliness could be felt.
On her freckled-face, a sad excuse for a makeup was put on, and even that didn’t suit her.
Her jaw looked protruded.
Her cheekbones popped up looking squarish.
Even though a peculiar, bad smell was emanating from her, there was no scent of a shampoo or perfume. It was an odor like a half-dried smell of a wet dog.
There’s no helping it if she looks withered.
If we summed her up in one word, it would be “Hideous”.
As Amano absent-mindedly gazed at the woman’s face, he genuinely felt sympathy.
This guy is currently enrolled in the Medical Department.
It may be because he knew too much about the structure of the human body, but he has no interest in looks. Whether it was a beautiful woman or an extremely ugly woman, he couldn’t think of anything else but the fact that they were all the same species of female homo sapiens.
Even so,  he felt that the test that God gave to the woman was harsh.
“You don’t love him anymore?”

When he lightly asked her that, she shook her head from side to side.

“Actually, I actually still like him… I wonder whether he’ll ever love me again. But something like that is impossible. Because of that, I won’t forgive the things that can’t be forgiven…”

Kishino tiredly continued talking.
Her lisping talk was full of hesitancy; just this much could make other people feel discomfort.
Amano thought the girl didn’t have enough self-consciousness of her own ugliness.
There’s no opportunity for love anymore.
She would be suitable to become single for the rest of her life.
It would be a miracle if she got married.
Something like living seriously wouldn’t happen.
“For sure, punishment for him may be necessary. To what extent should we punish him? Shall we make it so his guitar can never again be played?”

“Y, you can’t! The guitar important to him! What terrible things are you spouting?”

Even though she was requesting to kill just now, she rejected this idea.

“Then, what do you want to do? You went through the trouble to bravely request from me, didn’t you?”

“Yes…”

“Look into your heart and properly think of what you want to do for yourself. Then tell me.”

“Err… umm… well…”

“We have ample time. Calmly think it over. Your true desire.”

As Amano said that, he puffed out a smoke from his cigerette.
The woman tightly wound her eyes shut, hold her middle finger against her forhead, and began to mumble something. It was a movement that evoked a bad feeling but undoubtedly, she was thinking of something with all her might.
While Amano irritatedly stifled a yawn, he waited for the time when she would be done with thinking.
“Um…”

The woman finally opened her mouth.

“I want him, to return back to my side.”

With her cheeks painted red her body fidgeted.
Amano quite calmly declared.

“That’s impossible.”

With a “waa”, the woman’s face started spilling tears again.
Amano felt a feeling of pity but he declared it for the woman’s sake.

“Hey… You, have you ever seen your face in front of a mirror? You must have, right. Your cheekbones stick out, your chin is bulging and your hair is dirty. What you’re wearing is dirty, your nose is crooked and you smell. Even your makeup sucks. What I’m telling you may be cruel but for a woman, It’d be safe to say you’re the worst of the low class.”

He pretentiously pointed a finger at her. He stirred up the woman’s discomfort and pride with just this.

“You’re also a female university student so you must have walked around campus, right? Have you seen a woman uglier than you? Have you seen anyone with unkempt appearance than yours? There aren’t any, right? There really isn’t. There’s no one who’d be uglier than you.  This is something important so I’ll say it again; there’s no other woman who is uglier than you are. If there’s a guy that would ask out a girl like you, it should obviously be because of your money, won’t it?”

At receiving Amano’s cruel criticism, the woman’s face scrunched up as she loudly wailed.
The genius asshole loves it when people cry, but in this situation, he felt a strong discomfort. Probably due to the increasing amount of guilt.

“…Then, I, what will, what should I do……”

“I’ll tell you the other things that you can do besides making him return to your side. Like breaking his fingers, or aiming at the body part that will make him unable to have children for the rest of his life, or make him heal for the rest of his life, or beat him up till he’d have to carry around the handicap identification card wherever he goes. It makes you a little refreshed, right?”

He spoke of dangerous things. Frantically, the woman shook her head.

“Something like that will make him pitiful…”

“Then, what do you want to do?”

“I, I du-, dun, I dun kno…! UWAAA!”

Again, she cried with a loud voice.
Amano let out a deep sigh. He felt that if a witch cast a spell on this ugly girl, she may turn into a beautiful woman with a prince’s kiss but in reality, it is an endless cruelty.

(… No, wait. There’s a magic called modern medicine, ain’t there?)

While looking at the woman’s face, Amano used an abacus in his head.
Amano’s father manages the gynecology department in a big hospital. The hospital also conducts plastic surgery.

(Correcting the cheekbones and jaw. Largen the eyes to a double-eyelid. Removing the freckles. Liposuction. Nose prosthesis. Hyaluronic acid in the lips. It’d be nice to pluck out all her teeth. Anyhow, because she hasn’t disposed of any of her superfluous hair…)

The calculations were completed. Amano eagerly asked.

“Hey, do you have around 5,000,000 yen(around $44,495)?”

“I d-don’t have that much. I’ve used up all my savings.”

Getting a student loan was difficult.
It will become an outrageous amount of usury.
He gave up on the magical production.

“It can’t be helped. Then, let’s just punish the guy. It’s okay if we destroy one of his kidneys, won’t it?”

“No, no, no! You definitely can’t!”

“Shall we try and set him up with a suitable woman? Let’s make an ill-natured woman get close to him and rip him off with a large amount of money.”

“No! Please don’t make any girl get close to him except me!”

“Then, let’s blackmail him. A woman will easily lure him and then I’ll completely beat him up. ‘What the hell are you doing with my woman, hey?!’ I’ll be that kind of guy.”

“Doesn’t that mean beating him up?! Why are you always thinking of stuff like that! Please stop it!”

Amano let out a deep sigh.
Then, what does she want to do?
Whether it was her deciding to kill him or thinking that she wants to return back to him, her hope was shaky and she couldn’t organize it.

“Somehow, somehow could you help me start over with him?”

The woman had a teary face after crying all those tears.
Even with her already ugly face, it made her face even uglier.
Amano worried her face would get even uglier if she cried any more than this.

“If you want it so much. Well, I’ll do it. I’ll work out a plan for him to return to your side. But don’t have any expectations. Even a genius like me might not be able to work it well.”

“Th-thank you very much!”

Looking at the deeply lowered head of the woman, Amano was at lost.

* * *

After parting ways with the woman, Amano called his best friend Ryouta and sneaked in a certain lecture hall.

“There. The good-for-nothing host-like guy. He’s carrying a guitar case.”

“He’s Hasegawa Jun. This time’s target, eh?”

While he was in high spirits, Ryouta jotted down memos and with a hidden camera, took pictures of him.

This guy was one of the few friends of Amano.
With a superficial smile, he was a guy with a flashy trademark but he had one skill.
He’s a pervert that loves to chase around other people’s gossip.
By nature, he’s a flashy guy that loves picking up woman and mixers more than the three meals a day.
He has a hobby of chasing around women but he’s changed to a pervert that loves to do background investigations and tailing people around.
Not making one mistake, he may become a perfect stalker, or maybe a reporter for a gossip magazine, or even a handsome detective.

In many areas, he had a close compatibility with the genius asshole.

The target Hasegawa was a first-year under the English Literature Department.
Because Kishino Machiko was a second-year under the English Literature Department, a love bloomed from their senior-junior relationship (is what Kishino has been thinking at least).

As soon as the lecture finished, Hasegawa stood up.
Ryouta called out to him and somehow seemed like he was having an enjoyable conversation.
If you observed from a distance, the two quickly seemed to hit it off and wrapping their arms around each other’s shoulders, headed towards the smoking area.
As expected of Ryouta. It seemed like he quickly became acquainted with Hasegawa.

You can’t say for sure at a far distance, but Hasegawa was dressed terribly.

His blow hair was hair-blown like a host, his skin was darkly tanned, jingly useless accessories was put on his ears, it was hidden but his overall features were ugly.

Amano felt that Hasegawa might unexpectedly suit Kishino quite well.

Leaving the rest to Ryouta, Amano waited for his report at his fort on the student’s cafeteria’s 2nd-floor terrace.
After waiting for a while, he received a call from Ryouta.

“Ah, hello Yuuji? I just finished speaking with Hasegawkun, but he said that he didn’t have a girlfriend currently. He’s giving his full attention to the band, apparently.”

“What’s with that. That’s weird. According to Kishino’s explanation, he was an asshole that played with women, though.”

“Hasegawkun told me of his hopes on his university debut. I thought I was being deceived because of his bad looks. But he told me that he couldn’t get a girlfriend and it was hard. I was even asked to introduce him to someone, you know.”

“It’s definitely different from Kishino’s version.”

“Honestly, he’s a considerably good guy. My impression is that Kishino-san just made it up, don’t you think so?”

“There’s also the possibility that Hasegawa is spouting lies.”

“Hmm. I think there’s an 80% chance of possibility.”

If Ryouta’s observation was reliable, the possibility of it being made up was high.

“Can you follow Hasegawa? If it’s according to Kishino’s description, he’ll surely be living with a girl.”

“I thought you’d say that. I’m in the middle of following him right now.”

“As expected of you. Once you discover the circumstances, tell me.”

Amano cut off the phone call.
A strange and uncomfortable feeling appeared. He felt that Kishino’s whole explanation had no lies. But Ryouta’s observation is that Kishino made it all up.

He wondered what was the uncomfortable feeling for.
Was it only because of Kishino’s one-sided attachment?
Or was it just Hasegawa playing dumb?

(Well, can’t do anything but wait for the results from Ryouta’s following.)

Amano absent-mindedly gazed at the sky.
At this moment, he didn’t think that this event would be important.
Not even in his wildest dreams.

(T/N It’s starting to get serious… Even I don’t know who’s telling what lies. I’m just really reading this story as I translate lol.)
