Chapter 67: Teach Her A Good Lesson

However, Sheng Yang didn’t bother to tell the old lady. This old woman purposely gave her the cold shoulder and she would just take things as they came. Sheng Yang sat on a sofa and observed the house interior, preparing to sketch the house when she returned home.

Grandmother Sheng glanced at her casually and shook her head at her mahjong partners.

The other old women smiled knowingly.

This little village girl must’ve never seen such a luxurious house before.

After losing a few more rounds in a row, Grandmother Sheng became more and more grumpy.

“Oh, Madam Sheng, this girl brought you bad luck. You’ve been losing ever since she got here…”

“Yes, she jinxed me.” Grandmother Sheng scowled in anger. This girl didn’t even know to visit her grandmother after she returned. And now she had brought this girl here, but she was still so rude.

“Why don’t you just let her go back?” an old woman suggested.

But Grandmother Sheng didn’t want to let Sheng Yang off so easily, so she said stubbornly, “No way.”

Then she pointed at Sheng Yang and said coldly, “Hey you, come here!”

Sheng Yang ignored her and didn’t move.

Grandmother Sheng was instantly pissed. “Are you deaf? How dare you not listen to me!”

Sheng Yang still ignored her.

Grandmother Sheng wanted to rush up to beat her, but upon thinking of Sheng Yang’s mother, she hesitated and gave up the thought.

But under the stare of her mahjong partners, Grandmother Sheng was a little embarrassed.

So her face softened and her voice became gentler. “Come here and play a round of mahjong with me.”

But she was planning to teach this girl a good lesson.

On this mahjong table, one could easily lose hundreds of thousands or even millions every minute. It was a very different world from the one this girl had lived in. She would show this girl her place!

Sheng Yang finally raised her eyes when she heard this. “OK, but I’ll keep the money I win.”

It showed that she had heard Grandmother Sheng’s words but didn’t bother to answer.

Although she had never played mahjong and was eager to try it, she wouldn’t allow herself to lose any money.

Grandmother Sheng’s eyes widened in surprise when she heard that. What? What makes her think she can “win money”?

“Pft?” Her mahjong partners exchanged glances with each other and sneered, thinking this little girl was a bit interesting.

Was she retarded or just too bold?

Did she think this was some country street mahjong stall with a minimum bet of only a few cents?

“Okay.” Grandmother Sheng was amused by her. She sneered sarcastically. “Come here.”

Sheng Yang stood up calmly like a graceful water lily.

Grandmother Sheng gave up her seat and said, “I can lend my chips to you, but you’ll have to pay yourself if you lose.”

“OK.” Sheng Yang hadn’t brought much money today and it wasn’t bad to have some chips to use.

The other old women looked at this little girl with sympathy, compassion, and smugness. Someone couldn’t help but remind her, “Girl, the minimum bet each round is at least hundreds of thousands of Yuan.”

“Good.” Upon hearing that, Sheng Yang became more eager to try. If the minimum bet was too small, she wouldn’t want to waste her time. It wasn’t bad to earn big money so easily.

“Huh?” Seeing no fear in her eyes, these old women had butterflies in their stomachs. Was this girl really good at playing mahjong? But…
