Chapter 1322 – Still Leaving
“I’ve accepted it already. It’s nothing…” Xiaoxiao shook her head. “It would’ve come sooner or later.”
Shihan was at a loss for words. Xiaoxiao seemed to have accepted death, but she just couldn’t feel comfortable about it- seeing a friend she’d just made pass soon? It made her feel really heavy.
“Alright, Han, let’s not discuss that… Lin Yi said he could cure me, and that it’s for certain- maybe a few years later, when you come back, maybe I’ll be alive again…” Xiaoxiao tried to console her after seeing her face.
“Ah?” Shihan paused, not knowing about the ice container. She didn’t know what Xiaoxiao was talking about.
“It’s nothing… Did you bring a gift for me? Can I see it?” Xiaoxiao changed the topic.
“It’s an album I recorded for you personally, though most of it inside is just covers. It’s different from others; I never released it,” Shihan gave it to Xiaoxiao.
“Wah, that’s nice! I love it!” Xiaoxiao took it happily.
Mengyao, Yushu, Xiaobo, and Fen were all back- Goudan, Yuanyuan, Fatty Lai, and Feng Tianlong were invited as well!
After the cake was ready, they all gathered at the table and sang the birthday song. They all knew Xiaoxiao’s situation, but they wouldn’t bring it up- they wouldn’t show her any sad faces, too, all giving her their blessings with a smile.
“I’m so touched… This is the first time I’ve had such a lively birthday…” Xiaoxiao said emotionally. “Before, it was just my dad and me, but now there are so many good friends!”
“Alright, time to cut the cake!” Yushu lit up candles and ran over to turn off the lights.
The room was dark all of a sudden, with the light of the candles illuminating her face- it was red from the candlelight, and looked especially pretty.
“Xiaoxiao, you’re one year older now- do you have any wishes?” Tianlong looked at her daughter with a smile.
After he knew that Lin Yi had a possible treatment, Tianlong was now a lot more relieved- not only was there hope for Xiaoxiao, but there was hope for his wife, too! He’d be able to finally see some light from these twenty years of darkness.
“Yeah, but I can’t tell you…” Xiaoxiao blushed, although one couldn’t tell because the light was making her face red.
“Alright, everyone, let Xiaoxiao make the wish in silence, then?” Shihan suggested.
“Okay! Xiaoxiao, hurry and make the wish- tell me secretly later.” Yushu said.
“Heh…” Xiaoxiao nodded and put her hands together, closing the eyes and making the wish.
Although it looked as if she’d accepted her fate. There was still a big fear regarding her incoming death. She didn’t want to die, deep down, especially after finding a boyfriend as great as Lin Yi, friends as good as Mengyao, Yushu, Tang Yun, and Shihan… She couldn’t just die.
And so, her wish was so that Lin Yi could cure her, and then they could live together happily ever after.
Xiaoxaio fantasized into the future about that wish- she’d be married to Lin Yi, and they’d have kids, with Tang Yun, Mengyao, Shu, Shihan… That’d be so great… Xiaoxiao couldn’t help but feel a bit dizzy from that blessed scene.
Nobody said anything as they waited for her to make her wish, but after a while, her head was still lowered- Lin Yi’s face changed!
“Xiaoxiao!” He called out.
She didn’t reply.
He ran over instantly, checking her nose and her pulse. She went into the same state as when her sickness acted up!
It came after all! She couldn’t get past her twentieth birthday.
Lin Yi went for his wrist subconsciously, wanting to give his blood to her, but Elder Jiao’s voice stopped him. “Yi, it won’t help- the yang energy has already entered her bones.
