The TROUBLE this TIME Translator: Sae

Saturday at the café.

Shu Hui wore light makeup on this day. Her naturally pretty face, now appeared, even more beautiful.

"How have you been during this short period of time?" asked Bai Luo Yin, breaking the silent.

Shi Hui took the coffee spoon and leisurely stirred the coffee in the cup. Her big eyes occasionally flickered toward Bai Luo Yin.

"Guess."

"Looking at your complexion, you seem pretty well."

A smile forced its' way onto Shi Hui's face, "You think I'd dare look miserable in front of you? I got a bit carried away by my emotions. And you, on this side, immediately hung up. I was afraid. Really."

Bai Luo Yin remained quiet.

"Excuse me, gentlemen what would you like to order?"

"Let me look…okay, two glasses of fruit juice."

"May I ask, what flavor?"

"You look and pick for us!"

Two soldiers made their way toward the table beside Bai Luo Yin.

Their loud voice echoed in the room. Attracted by it, Bai Luo Yin couldn't help but to cast a side glance their way. The two soldiers looked around the shop in all directions before their eyes, at that exact moment, came into contact with Bai Luo Yin's line of sight. Then, as if nothing happened, they nonchalantly turned away and continued their loud conversation.

In this spacious café, the two soldiers had insistently squeezed their way over to this side.

"What's wrong?" asked Shi Hui.

Bai Luo Yin shook his head, "Nothing."

The two soldiers' head gathered close as they whispered to one another, "Don't even mention it, our General's son has good eyes. Just look at how proper that girl is!"

"Hey hey… this guy has really bad luck."

Shi Hui remained silent for quite some time. Her visions completely immersed with Bai Luo Yin's face. As if in a trance, she stared blankly at him for a long while.

"Yin Zi, you've changed a lot."

Bai Luo Yin was quite surprised, "Is that so?  I didn't realize."

Shi Hui smiled faintly, exposing two dimples.

"You've become handsome."

Bai Luo Yin didn't reply back as he tugged at the corner of his lips.

The two soldiers at the size called out again.

"What I want was freshly squeezed juice, why did you give me artificial flavored juice huh?"

"Mister, you clearly said to choose anything."

"Hey, are you talking back to me? You're making it look like a soldier is bullying you, a waitress! Go, call your manager out here!"

"I'm sorry, mister, the manager is not here. I will switch it out for you."

Their conversation was once again interrupted, causing Shi Hui to feel somewhat disheartened.

Bai Luo Yin said, "How about we switch seats?"

Shi Hui smiled and nodded her head as she looked at Bai Luo Yin, "Actually, that's exactly what I was thinking as well."

The two had only moved and sat down for a few minutes before the soldiers caused another ruckus. Apparently, a couple glasses of fruit juice had spilt. Without any other option, they switched table as well. The two soldiers moved directly toward the area close to Bai Luo Yin and Shi Hui.

Even if Bai Luo Yin was stupid, he could still see through their true

"How about you come sit on my side. We can sit a bit closer to each other, that way, it won't be too noisy."

Shi Hui cautiously and solemnly faced Bai Luo Yin, worried he would refuse.

Bai Luo Yin glanced toward the two soldiers quickly and sat down on the seat next to Shi Hui.

A familiar scent assaulted her nostrils. Sadness rained on Shi Hui as she looked at Bai Luo Yin's hands. Who remembers how many times, those hands had pulled her along countless streets and many times they had also wiped away her tears. What she was once familiar with, has now become strange.

"Bai Luo Yin, if it wasn't for the screen on the wall displaying the date, I'd almost believed that we never broke up and I have not gone abroad. We're just here on a date."

Bai Luo Yin's resolute orbs abruptly wavered for a bit.

"Bai Luo Yin, do you know why I came back?"

Bai Luo Yin forced himself to answer back, "Because of me."

"To be more exact, it is because of some words you've said before."

Bai Luo Yin l at Shi Hui. The distance between them gradually diminished. He could almost see tears forming at the corners of her eyes. It seems as though, any second now, they would gather together, form a droplet and trickle down along her beautiful rosy cheeks.

"You said, you already have someone that you like. I can't let it go, I don't believe you. I wanted to ask you in person, who is that person? If you can give me a definite answer, I will leave this café and immediately purchase a place ticket."

Bai Luo Yin's lips moved about but he didn't say anything. He didn't know whether his heart was hesitating, or that, he couldn't speak the truth.

"I just know it. You're lying to me." Shi Hui's tears finally flowed down as her soft fingers grasped Bai Luo Yin's arm. With an unsteady voice she said, "Bai Luo Yin, I'm not going to leave."

Bai Luo Yin suddenly sobered up, everything was clearer now. As he turned to look at Shi Hui, his voice held, somewhat, of a harsh tone to it, "There's no need for you to feign ignorance in front of me. Even if you stay here, we're still impossible."

"Why?"

Finally, unable to control her emotions, Shi Hui held onto Bai Luo Yin's arm and began to sob. She cried and asked in between tears: "You don't like me anymore?"

In the end, Bai Luo Yin didn't have the heart to push Shi Hui away.

The two soldiers at the side couldn't bare to look anymore as they mumbled amongst themselves in a low tone: "He doesn't like you, but I like you. You can come over here. I will definitely love you dearly."

"This guy is quite heartless."

"Humph! Soon, he going be in a lot of trouble."

——

Gu Hai stood at the troop's large training ground, staring calmly into the distance at the soldiers rigorously training.

A young officer walked over to where Gu Hai was standing, stood straight and faced Gu Hai before saluting him.

Gu Hai used his eyes to salute back.

The officer finally relaxed his body and smiled at Gu Hai, asking: "Where have you been lately? It's been a long time since I've seen you."

"Busy for no reason."

The officer laughed again, "General Gu left just awhile ago."

Gu Hai ignores what he said and directly asked, "Is there a rifle?"

The officer faced the barracks and called out loudly, "Bring out the best rifle!"

Gu Hai held the rifle with both of his hands and walked toward the shooting range. Luckily, there were already two snipers there practicing. About 100 meters ahead were several moving targets. Gu Hai kept silent as he inserted the bullets into its' cartridge case.

After he found a good position, he followed the quick footsteps of the sniper in front of him. When the sniper up front took a shot, Gu Hai took a shot as well. Afterwards, he fired several more rounds toward the same target. Nearly six bullets landed on the same spot while the remaining ones missed the mark.

Gu Hai's brows wrinkled together, as if unsatisfied with the result. Since he hasn't touched a gun in a long time, his skills had indeed degraded.

The snipers laid their rifles down and turned to look at the young man behind them. They couldn't help but pat Gu Hai on the shoulder, praising him: "Young man, your marksmanship isn't bad at all. Have you practiced before?"

A loud roar breaks out before he was able to respond.

"What's going on? Why aren't you practicing diligently? Are his shoulders something you can randomly pat?"

The snipers' facial expression changed. Their heads hung low as they loudly saluted. After they were given permission, they turned around and walked away.

The officer looks apologetically at Gu Hai.

"They just transferred over here and didn't recognize you."

Gu Hai faintly answers back, 'it's fine', before picking the rifle up and taking aim again.

Feeling as though he has done his part, the officer quietly leaves. He didn't get far when he saw two soldiers hastily dash toward his direction.

"You two, what have you been doing? I've been looking for you all afternoon! You've seriously violated the code of conducts…"

Gu Hai laid down the rifle and went toward the officer.

The two soldiers lowered their heads, not daring to utter a single word nor make any sound.

"I let them go out. There was something I wanted them to handle."

In a split second, the officer's once solemn face resumed its gentleness.

"So that's how it was, then forget it, hahaha…"

After the officer left, the two soldiers stealthily stole a glance at Gu Hai, their expressions were somewhat nervous. Truthfully, Gu Hai's state of mind was even more nervous than they were. If he could stay seated at him, he wouldn't have ran all the way over here. It's just…in front of the two soldiers, it's inappropriate to reveal his nervousness.

"What's going on?"

The two soldiers exchanged looks, 'if you you nominate me, I’ll nominate you'. In the end, neither could  open their mouth to speak.

The longer they were like this, the longer Gu Hai's mind became even more irritated.

"You talk first!" Gu Hai pointed at the soldier to the left.

The soldier wiped sweats off his forehead and very cautiously said, "Actually, they were reminiscing about the old days. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary."

The soldier to the right was rather honest. He immediately retorted upon hearing his comrade's words.

"What do you mean, didn't say anything out of the ordinary? Did you forget why that girl return to the country."

Gu Hai promptly took a step forward. The ruthless expression in his eyes remained firmly on the soldier to the right.

"Why did she return?"

The soldier to the left pulled the soldier to the right's sleeve for a second, using his eyes to repeatedly warn him.

You must not, by all means, say the truth. If you really want to say, that the girl was the one who came of her own accord, young Master Gu will definitely be infuriated. If we tell him the truth, do you think we'll be able to live another day?

The soldier to the right immediately respond back as he forced a smile from the side of his lips.

"It's the guy. He gave the girl a call and asked her to return to the country."

"Right, right, right," the soldier to the left parroted after, "Originally, the girl didn't want to return, but the guy pestered her to."

At that moment, a buzz rang in Gu Hai's brain as his face turns pallid.

The soldier on the left nudges the soldier to the right, motioning him him to try to console Gu Hai.

"That, Gu…young Master Gu, actually…that girl didn't mean it like that. That guy shamelessly stuck to her, and insisted that she stay."

"Right, that guy doesn't even care about saving any face. The moment they sat down, he never stopped singing her praises especially about how beautiful she is and he persistently stared at her."

"He also forced a hug on her and refused to let go."

"That's enough," Gu Hai suddenly interrupted, "Don't say anymore, I understand. You two can leave now."

"That…" the soldier to the left scratched his head and deridingly faced Gu Hai, "Can you put in some good words for us with the General? Let us get a three class merit!"

"Let you have a merit?" Gu Hai clenched his fists tightly, "You pissed me off and you dare ask for a merit? What kind of merits do you have?"

For a moment, the soldier to the right refused to budge before he cautiously said, "We will help you vent your anger!"

"Yeah, we can beat that guy up to a pulp. That bastard won't be able to get off the bed for three days."

"Three days?  How I see it, he won't be able to sit up for half a month!"

Gu Hai, "……"
