Chapter 6 Revenge   “Little Prince, let your father go in peace, since he has already gone. . . ” The housekeeper was also sad, especially when he saw the little prince was so stubborn. Anything he thought was true, was true—nobody could persuade him.   “No, you are lying! Tell me, what’s your purpose? Why are you cursing my father? Father is well. He is just sleeping . . . he is just sleeping. . . ” Suddenly, Yi Zhizhu felt faint and fell down unconscious. “Sorry, my prince.” The housekeeper had just hit a point on Yi Zhizhu to make him slip into unconsciousness. The servant dug a pit to bury Yi Renyuan, and errected a tomb stone as a marker. To avoid being recognized by the enemies, he didn’t dare to carve the name on the stone. After three kowtows, the housekeeper took the sleeping child and left.   ----------------------- Discovering that Yi Zhizhu was missing, the housekeeper went back to the mountain as before. As he guessed, Yi Zhizhu was sitting there, unfocused and empty of thought. He took a look at him; his shadow was lonely. Since the death of his parents, the housekeeper took him to the country of Tian Chi County. He bought a villa whose backyard boasted a mountainside. At first he thought this quiet place would be good for him to practice martial arts. Soon, he found that the little prince always remained silent after waking up. He liked to come to the mountainside alone, staying there quietly for several hours. Even if he asked him any questions, he wouldn’t answer. After he had his fill of enjoying this time alone, he would go back to practice.   Yi Zhizhu didn’t forget his father’s last words. Except for the studies of medicine and knowledge, the most important thing for him was to practice martial arts. Each time he felt his mind relaxing, he would go to the mountainside to stay alone, allowing the cold wind to blow over him to remind him of the poor death of his parents. He was addicted to this peace, without the housekeeper’s chattering, though he knew he had good intentions. But he was already grown up—not a little kid anymore.     This time, as usual, the housekeeper went to get him again. He knew it was him before turning around to have a look. “Little Prince, the wind is strong here. Let’s go home.” The housekeeper’s desolate voice was heard from behind. Yi Zhizhu stood up without answering him. He took the road back home, and the old one followed him. “Housekeeper. . . ” he said with no emotion. “Yes. . . ?” This was the first time that the prince had spoken to him here. “We have been staying here for thirteen years, right?” Hm? Why did he ask this question? The housekeeper didn’t know the reason, but he answered quickly, “Yes.” “Prepare my pack. I will go down the mountain the day after tomorrow,” he said softly, but his voice was still cold. “Prince?” The housekeeper was shocked. So the day had finally come? They couldn’t avoid it? “Sure, I will go prepare right now.” He understood that this was a fate they couldn’t escape from. If it was not for the master’s order that he had to take care of the child, he himself would have fought against the enemies long ago. “Housekeeper, if I don’t come back, sell this villa and find a good place to live the rest of your life,” he said with dedication. “How could I? Your kung fu is so powerful! For all these years, I have nothing to teach you. And you learned from the cultivation books, right? You should have a much more powerful art than me. Meanwhile, you are good at using poisons. You won’t lose. The heavens will also help you; you will come back in peace.” There was indulgence in his voice, and the old one was now trembling a little. He’d brought him up as his own child. If he couldn’t come back, he would follow his steps.   There was a legend about the Happy Sword Warrior in the Tian Dynasty and Di Dynasty. The saying was that the young man wore blue robes and covered his face with a dark scarf. If he wanted you to die at three o’clock, you couldn’t live until five o’clock. He called himself the Happy Sword Warrior, good at both using poisons and sword. But people seldom saw him use the sword. Most of the people killed by him were evil. The legend was that if he claimed he would go to take someone’s life, even if you hired as many powerful warriors as possible, still, you couldn’t survive.   His appearance had disturbed the whole world. Several days ago, the clan “Luo Sheng Men” was extinguished. From the master to the student, in total 375 people died in one night. This information frightened the whole world. People were afraid of becoming the next one. But since then, the Happy Sword Warrior had disappeared. Nobody knew where he was from, or where he had gone. All the storytellers spread his stories to the visitors coming and going.   ----------------------- Yi Zhizhu took off his black scarf, and put on white clothes. He brought the housekeeper to the place where his dad was buried. He took out his sword to dig out his father’s bones, and they corrected them and reburied him in a good place at the mountainside behind their villa. Since his mother’s body was burnt before they could save her, Yi Zhizhu could only write her name on the tombstone together with that of his father. The day they reburied his father, Yi Zhizhu and the housekeeper wailed at the tomb, which made the other servants become moved to tears. “Dad, Mom, I have avenged you. You can go peacefully now.” Yi Zhizhu took out a bottle of wine, opened it, and poured the wine in front of the tombstone. And then they went back. Since then, he went to grieve them on the day of their deaths every year.
