Chapter 18.1 : Disparity Too Great
Seeing Duanmu Xi's pained expression, Xuanyuan Mo stuck out his tongue and licked her soft face, like he was reassuring her that he was fine.
"Snowy, stand back and rest for while."
Duanmu Xi rubbed Xuanyuan Mo's large head and turned around to look at the black robed assassins, her eyes narrowing up.
"Whoever harms him must die."
The soft icy cold voice reached the ears of every single one of them.
Xuanyuan Mo's heart quivered in surprise. She was always making his heartstrings strum like this. A single statement, sometimes a single action, that always made his heart thump wildly.
"Raging Torrent….."
Duanmu Xi focused her spirit energy to summon up a great torrential blue wave.
"Devour….."
With a sharp cold shout, the blue wave surged towards the group of black robed men.
The first instinctive thought the black robed assassins had when they saw the immense blue wave was to turn back and run but the tidal wave was not letting them off just like that as it opened fell upon them like a gaping mouth that swallowed them up.
"Argh….."
Pitiful cries sounded out one after another within the silent forest and several Mystical Chieftain level black robed assassins were killed in an instant.
With the numerous highly powerful water type techniques executed, the black robes assassins were finding it a little hard bear up under.
The black robed assassins stared at Duanmu Xi in shock. Nevermind that she was a eleven or twelve year old Spirit King, but how could she also have such an inexhaustible amount of spirit energy?
"All of you go deal with that kid and that water type spirit beast."
The leader of the assassins said as he glared malevolently at Duanmu Xi.
To think that she was already so powerful at such a young age. She would surely come to make a name for herself that would be known throughout the world. A pity she would no longer have that chance, as today is the day that her time is up…..
At the same time that the leader of the dark robed assassins was glaring at Duanmu Xi, Duanmu Xi was also observing him closely.
A Mystic Sovereign level pugilist. But judging from the colour of that mystic energy, he had probably just advanced a level.
She was still thinking when a powerful streak of blue mystical energy shot straight towards her.
"Water Shield."
Duanmu Xi gathered her water spirit energy and formed a blue protective screen before her, thinking to block that bolt of blue mystical energy but failed to stop it.
The blue mystical energy struck Duanmu Xi viciously and Duanmu Xi fell back several steps before a mouthful of blood spewed out of her mouth.
"Awooo…."
Xuanyuan Che lifted his head and howled into the sky, wanting to rush up to her in panic. But he was surrounded by black robed assassins all around and could not even take a step forward.
"Mistress….."
Lan Ze was anxious when he saw Duanmu Xi was hurt but he knew that his mission was to protect Xuanyuan Che now. Xuanyuan Che did not have the ability to protect himself at this moment and if anything happened to him, Mistress would definitely…..
He could only deal with this bunch of black robed men quickly before he can rush over to help his Mistress.
"Cascading Rain….."
Countless slivers of water blue light beams shot towards the black robed assassins, eliciting many mournful cries from them.
After the light beams faded, every single one of the black robed assassins were covered with a multitude of tiny wounds on their bodies. The power of a divine beast was not something any ordinary man would be able to withstand.
The black robed men all looked at Lan Ze with terror in their eyes.
What is going on here? The spirit beast that looks not much different from a little puppy actually commanded such great power.
Duanmu Xi steadied herself and wiped away the trickle of blood from the corner of her mouth as she cast a reassuring glance at Snowy.
She's fine. Although the Water Shield did not manage to stop the bolt of blue mystical power, it weakened the attack. Without the Water Shield, she might already be dead as her opponent was two whole levels above and the difference in power between the combatants was not just by a bit or two.
Seems like the only way left was…..
