Chapter 57: Continue — Do you still want to continue with me?

After Ye Zhen Zhen had showered, she went to the table and opened her luggage case.

Although she had packed lightly for the trip, her small luggage case was filled to the brim on the return trip, like a bloated fat person.

Putting away her clothes and the D City local specialities, Ye Zhen Zhen glanced worriedly at the locked case she brought back from Li Jia Jia's room.

The case was made of iron and shaped like a cube. She had found it at the very back corner of the wardrobe. Unfortunately, the case had a combination lock. She had tried several numbers, but the box wouldn't open.

She reluctantly tried her birthday again, but Ye Zhen Zhen saw that the case did not budge in the slightest.

Giving up on the battle with the case, Ye Zhen Zhen rummaged through her bag for a while and then quietly tiptoed into Ji Zhe Yan's room.

Ji Zhe Yan hadn't closed the door, so when he heard light footsteps, his lips curved into a slight smile.

"Dr. Ji!" Ye Zhen Zhen hugged him from behind, leaning her entire weight onto him. "What's this?"

Ji Zhe Yan's gaze swept over the small booklet in front of him, his smile becoming a bit forced. "You actually stole a household register?"

Ye Zhen Zhen laughed proudly and released Ji Zhe Yan. "Dr. Ji, I am someone with a household register now; we can get married!"

Ji Zhe Yan looked at her, a somewhat vexed expression on his face. "But I don't have a household register."

Ye Zhen Zhen: "…"

With drooped eyebrows, she set the household register on the table and directly sat on Ji Zhe Yan's lap. "Dr. Ji, you said you would reward me when I return."

Ji Zhe Yan smiled and said, "Originally, there was a reward, but now it's been rescinded."

"Why?!" Ye Zhen Zhen looked at him with wide eyes, as if she had received a grievance as large as the sky.

"Because we still have an account to settle." Ji Zhe Yan wrapped his arms around her waist and held her close to his chest. Ye Zhen Zhen's heart trembled. She recalled how Ji Zhe Yan had said he had something he wanted to talk with her about on the phone.

"So what is it?" Ye Zhen Zhen's hand pressed against Ji Zhe Yan's chest, keeping a safe distance between the two, but the arms wrapped around her waist kept her close. Ye Zhen Zhen was unable to retreat at all.

"I heard from Officer Zuo that you seem to be in marriage negotiations with others in D City?" Ji Zhe Yan's lips curved, as if he was remembering Zuo Yi telling him this in a schadenfreude tone.

Ye Zhen Zhen's heart chilled instantly. She knew Li Su had been rushing to get her married, and she had heard that Li Su had narrowed it down to one person, someone who opened a food processing plant at home. Although the scale was not large, that household was quite well-off, with enough to spare if the households joined.

But, but…she felt that she was innocent! She even suspected that she left home because of this!

She saw the smile within Ji Zhe Yan's eyes and also smiled. "Dr. Ji, this is an old matter. Furthermore, I don't know anything about it. Do you care?"

"I care very much." Ji Zhe Yan tightened his embrace.

Feeling the strength coiled in the arms wrapped around her waist, Ye Zhen Zhen struggled to maintain her smile. "No, you're not so petty. You hadn't cared when I was previously engaged to Qin Kong, hehehe."

Ji Zhe Yan's eyes shifted. Ye Zhen Zhen suddenly felt as if she had signed her death warrant.

"When you were previously engaged to Qin Kong, I was not your boyfriend, but now, you are mine." Ji Zhe Yan kissed her after he said this. Although this kiss was not very gentle and soft, it caused Ye Zhen Zhen's heart to flare up.

He said that she was his.

This was the first time Dr. Ji revealed such an intense possessiveness. Despite her lips aching from his nibbling, and the arms seemingly trapping her by the waist and digging into her skin, her mind was overflowing with happiness, such that not a single one of these concerns was prevalent.

Her head lightly met the pillow, causing Ye Zhen Zhen to realize that they had already moved to the bed. Ji Zhe Yan, however, had still not released her lips.

Because of their frequent practice, Ye Zhen Zhen's lung capacity had improved remarkably since she first started, so she could still find the time to explore Ji Zhe Yan's body during this dizzying kiss.

Those hands exploring his body felt a bit ticklish, which finally made Ji Zhe Yan release Ye Zhen Zhen's bruised lips. He looked down at her with an ambiguous smile. "Like what you're feeling?"

He panted lightly, his bangs slightly covering his eyes from view. Every word he spoke caused hot air to brush against her face, each warm breath causing her heart to throb…

Ye Zhen Zhen felt as if she was losing control.

"Dr. Ji…" she subconsciously called out, her voice so soft she dared not believe that it was hers.

Ji Zhe Yan's body visibly stiffened. He furrowed his brows and buried his head into the pillow. "I'm…"

The rest of his words were muffled. Ye Zhen Zhen hugged him and whispered, "Is it okay for us to continue?"

Ji Zhe Yan did not reply for a long time. Just as Ye Zhen Zhen thought that he had already fallen asleep, he suddenly moved. "Okay."

This voice was softer than Ye Zhen Zhen's earlier. She was startled for a moment, thinking that she had misheard, but Ji Zhe Yan backed up his single-word response with action.

Although the previous persistence and apprehension were still there, he now wanted to act according to his heart. This person was his, so she could only be his.

"Are you in pain?" He raised his head slightly to look at Ye Zhen Zhen, worry in his gaze.

Ye Zhen Zhen blinked back tears and yelled at him with an aggrieved expression. "Not even slightly! See for yourself!"

Ji Zhe Yan looked down. He knew that it was not appropriate to smile at this time, but sorry, he really couldn't help it.

"Endure a little…"

Following Ji Zhe Yan's words, she was drawn into a light kiss brimming with gentleness as his body enveloped hers.

The next day, Ye Zhen Zhen was woken up by the phone.

She cracked her eyes open, but barely, and saw that the phone battery had been violently removed by Ji Zhe Yan.

The room fell silent again. Ye Zhen Zhen subconsciously asked, "Who called?"

"10086."

Ye Zhen Zhen: "…"

She remembered that she had labelled Xi Cao gege's number as 10086.

She glanced at the phone on the ground and decided to turn over this leaf.

"Dr. Ji," she called out habitually. She wanted to snuggle into Ji Zhe Yan, but any small movement caused her body to ache. She realized this in a split second, after which her face became very red.

"What's the matter? Are you hurt anywhere?" Ji Zhe Yan wrinkled his brows and brushed a hand across her forehead in worry. Good, no fever.

Ye Zhen Zhen tugged her blanket up and hid her face, not daring to look Ji Zhe Yan in the eye. Ji Zhe Yan stared at her for a moment before suddenly smirking. "What's the matter, Gou Dan'er? Don't tell me you're acting shy? Do you still want to continue with me?"

Ye Zhen Zhen: "…"

Dr. Ji, that strange mode of yours turned on again!

She withdrew from the blanket and embraced Ji Zhe Yan's waist. "Dr. Ji, will you take responsibility of me?"

Ji Zhe Yan thought this over and said, "If you do not graduate from university, I do not intend on taking responsibility."

Ye Zhen Zhen's face fell, looking as if she was a second away from crying. "Dr. Ji, I don't go to university. I'm illiterate. I, I can only look after a supermarket QAQ."

Ji Zhe Yan froze for a second before suddenly feeling distress. He cautiously pulled Ye Zhen Zhen to his chest and kissed the tears away. "I'm truly a fool." 1

Ye Zhen Zhen's expression immediately became more pitiful. "I, I got admitted to the Academy, but didn't have money to study there."

Dr. Ji had gone abroad to study to be a doctor. She was a supermarket sales clerk who only passed high school…how could life be so cruel!

"Anyway, anyway, I'm already Dr. Ji's! Dr. Ji, if you abandon me, I will go to the hospital to accuse you!" Ji Zhe Yan hugged Ye Zhen Zhen tighter when she said this, as if he thought she was going to kick him from the bed for a split second.

Ji Zhe Yan stroked her hair and pressed his forehead against hers. "Mn, you are already mine."

Ye Zhen Zhen's ears turned red, though she had calmed down.

Ji Zhe Yan hugged her for a while before finally releasing her. "Are you hungry? I'll go make breakfast. What do you want to eat?"

Ye Zhen Zhen closed her eyes and nuzzled Ji Zhe Yan's bare chest, saying, "I want to eat whatever Dr. Ji makes."

Ji Zhe Yan smiled and kissed her cheek before getting out of bed. "Go back to sleep. I'll call for you when breakfast is done."

"Okay…" Ye Zhen Zhen had no strength left in her body and tiredly closed her eyes after speaking. Ji Zhe Yan saw her breathing even out and lightly closed the door.

Ye Mansion. Zuo Yi led a team to dig through the whole garden.

Li Xin Ran glanced at the scorching sun above them and used a hand to fan himself. "Leader, is the murder weapon really buried in the garden?"

Zuo Yi smiled and said, "Since housekeeper Zhou led us here, what's the harm in investigating a little."

Li Xin Ran frowned. "She wouldn't have buried the weapon in the garden herself, would she?" Did she say that someone knocked her out in order to interfere with the police's line of sight?

Zuo Yi didn't reply and instead glanced down at the soil. When a murderer escaped with the murder weapon, they would normally choose to discard it somewhere else after escaping. Burying it at the scene of the crime like this was indeed uncommon. Therefore, they had primarily focused on checking the perimeter of the Ye Mansion. In addition, this garden had been turned over completely at that time, so they hadn't suspected at all.

He glanced in the direction of the doorway. Wang Er Gou was anxiously watching them. Zuo Yi's eyes darkened. He had been standing like that all morning.

"Found it!" Hou Zi's voice resounded, like a sharp sword suddenly tearing the vast sky asunder.

Second update!

Sorry, the author has a wolfish nature today and allowed Dr. Ji to lose his virginity!

Definitely is the full moon's fault!

Actually, it's because it's too cold today, so I wrote something heartwarming

Chapter 58: The Truth — I didn't do it on purpose!

It was a long, twenty centimeter knife, with the blade covered in a thin layer of dirt. In the sun's glare, however, it still sparkled with a cold light.

Practically the split second this knife was dug up, Wang Er Gou turned around with lightning speed and ran away. Li Xin Ran swiftly tackled him to the ground, and the other police surrounded the duo immediately.

Wang Er Gou struggled on the ground for a while before gradually giving up. Zuo Yi nonchalantly walked up and looked down. "Why were you running away?"

Wang Er Gou gritted his teeth and remained silent for a moment. Then, tears streaked down his face without any warning. "I really didn't do it on purpose! I didn't deliberately stab Master!"

Although Wang Er Gou didn't look as tall as an ox or as large as a horse, he was still a rugged man. Such heart-rending sobs from a man with such tyrannical strength caused the expressions of all the police officers to twitch.

Zuo Yi signaled Li Xin Ran with his eyes, and Li Xin Ran, catching on, pulled Wang Er Gou up from the ground, placing Wang Er Gou's hands behind his back. "What's a big man like you crying for?! Come with us back to the police department and explain!"

Wang Er Gou heard this and cried even more viciously.

Li Xin Ran escorted Wang Er Gou over to the police car. Zuo Yi glanced to the side at Hou Zi and said, "Bring housekeeper Zhou as well. I have more questions to ask her."

"Roger!" Perhaps finding the murder weapon had caused everyone to inwardly sigh in relief. Hou Zi's response was especially resounding. Zuo Yi laughed and followed Li Xin Ran to the police car.

Inside the interrogation room, Zuo Yi patiently waited for Wang Er Gou to stop crying before beginning the questioning.

"Just now, you said that you didn't deliberately stab Ye Hong Sheng. Specifically explain what had happened."

Wang Er Gou used a tissue to wipe away his snot. His voice was still choking with sobs. "That day, I originally planned to meet up with some friends in town, but I discovered that I had a fever. I had been feeling unwell, but didn't want to go to the hospital to see the doctor. I thus went to casually find some fever reducers. I thought that if I felt better in a few, I would still go out."

Zuo Yi nodded and hinted for him to continue.

Wang Er Gou sobbed and continued, "I fell into a deep sleep. I don't know how long I slept for. Afterward, I dazedly heard a shriek; it seemed like the Young Miss' voice. I woke up; by then it was already eight. My temperature had gone down a bit, but I hadn't eaten anything all day, which made me thirsty and hungry. I went to look for something to eat in my room. After that, I was worried about that shriek I just heard. Although I naturally thought that I dreamt it, I still went to take a look. When I got to the drawing room, I saw…saw Young Miss unconscious beside the staircase. Furthermore, she was in a pool of blood!"

"What time was that?"

"I don't know. Probably ten or twenty minutes after I woke up." Wang Er Gou messed up his hair, further confusion appearing on his face. "I was really scared at that time, so I immediately rushed down. Young Miss' complexion was very pale, but she was still breathing. I originally wanted to make a phone call to call the ambulance, when I heard a voice come from upstairs."

Zuo Yi's brows jumped. At that time, Wang Er Gou had seen Ye Zhen Zhen who had not yet died. He pursed his lips and asked, "And then?"

"I was shocked and thought the person who pushed down the Young Miss had stayed upstairs and hadn't left yet." Wang Er Gou took a deep breath after he said this. "There just happened to be a paring knife beside Young Miss. I easily grabbed it for self-defense and went upstairs. As I neared the second floor, that voice became clearer. Moreover, it sounded like it came from Master's room. When, when I entered Master's room, a shadow suddenly jumped me. I subconsciously used the knife in my hand to stab him."

Wang Er Gou stopped here, and the interrogation room fell silent. Then, Zuo Yi's voice rang out. "That person was Ye Hong Sheng?"

Wang Er Gou pursed his lips, a look of suffering on his face. "Yes…I really didn't know that it was Master! Officers, you must believe me!"

Wang Er Gou began sobbing after he shouted this.

Zuo Yi asked, "Why didn't you call the police?"

"I, I didn't dare…I haven't married yet. I didn't want to go to jail…" Wang Er Gou couldn't stop crying, his tears dotting his face like raindrops on a pear blossom. 1

Li Xin Ran was stunned speechless upon seeing his expression. Zuo Yi, on the contrary, didn't react and simply stared him down. "After that, you buried the murder weapon in the garden?"

"Mn…I had just turned over the ground, so no one would suspect."

"Did you run into housekeeper Zhou?"

"No…"

Zuo Yi didn't continue questioning him and had Hou Zi lead him out. When Wang Er Gou was escorted out, he shouted himself hoarse, sobbing, saying he didn't do it on purpose.

Only when his voice was thoroughly cut off by the door did Li Xin Ran sigh. "Leader, what he said should be the truth." According to their investigation of Wang Er Gou, this person's character was truly well mannered…indeed, not only was he the sole person not benefiting from the Ye family inheritance dispute, he didn't have a motive to kill either.

"Mn." Zuo Yi nodded and said, "Call in housekeeper Zhou."

Once again sitting in the interrogation room, housekeeper Zhou was still as composed as before.

Zuo Yi looked at her and asked, "That night on March 13th, did someone really knock you unconscious?"

Housekeeper Zhou didn't reply. Zuo Yi smiled and continued, "We questioned Qin Kong and Wang Er Gou. Neither of them admitted to hitting you—this is indeed very strange. Compared to murdering Ye Hong Sheng, knocking you unconsciously truly wouldn't be considered a big deal. They had no need to cover up the truth. I have grounds to suspect that you lied. Therefore, if you hadn't been knocked out by someone, during that hour of time, where were you and what were you doing?"

Housekeeper Zhou didn't say anything, so Zuo Yi adopted a contemplative appearance. He speculated, "Perhaps you didn't do anything? After you returned, you saw Qin Kong murder Ye Hong Sheng and then saw him push Ye Zhen Zhen down the stairs. You saw Ye Kang Ping and his wife arrive at the scene and saw them deal with Ye Zhen Zhen's corpse. You even saw them push the fake Ye Zhen Zhen down the stairs. Oh, in this timeline, you would even see Wang Er Gou pick up the murder weapon in the drawing room and stab Ye Hong Sheng on the second floor. From start to finish, you saw it all, but you didn't say anything. Why?"

Housekeeper Zhou raised her head to glance at him. Zuo Yi's smile, for the first time, sent a chill down her spine.

"On this earth, there is a type of person who always likes to know everything before taking action." Although housekeeper Zhou didn't reply, Zuo Yi kept on talking, as if he was minding his own business. "Too many things happened that night. You were momentarily unable to determine the best course of action. Additionally, what had shocked you the most was seeing two Ye Zhen Zhen's. Due to the circumstances being too complicated, you chose to watch it develop——naturally, you should do something. At the very least, you must take advantage of this time to research into inheritance laws. Having grasped all the information at hand, you determined the optimal course of action——not only could you not get involved, you could even maximize the benefits. Therefore, your testimony about Qin Kong led us to suspect Wang Er Gou. You wanted to make us believe that Ye Zhen Zhen had died before Ye Hong Sheng. Like this, Zhou Wen could inherit."

Once Zuo Yi finished speaking, housekeeper Zhou stared at him for a long time before saying, "Officer Zuo, is there evidence to anything you have just said, or are these all just conjectures of yours?"

Zuo Yi smiled and replied, "Regretfully, these are all conjectures of mine."

Although he implied that he had no evidence, housekeeper Zhou did not expose a joyful expression. "Even if Young Master Qin and Wang Er Gou did not knock me unconscious, that does not rule out others who may have done so."

"So you still stand by your previous statement?"

"Yes."

Zuo Yi nodded slightly and said to her, "I still want to say something, though. Your plan requires Ye Zhen Zhen to be dead. If that girl is not Ye Zhen Zhen, then Mr. Ye Hong Sheng's will still goes into effect."

Housekeeper Zhou's expression finally shifted. "Officer Zuo, what do you think of this matter regarding the two Young Misses."

Zuo Yi said, "I do not believe that two people who have no relation to each other can look exactly the same. The two of them should be twins." He paused and then asked, "You have been with the Ye family for so many years. Have you heard that Ye Zhen Zhen has a twin?"

Housekeeper Zhou shook her head and said, "I have never heard this before. Madam and Master never mentioned such a thing."

Zuo Yi frowned. It would seem that the mystery was not as simple as a 'long lost twin' scenario.

He still hadn't figured out the main threads of this issue when someone hurriedly knocked on the door of the interrogation room. The person outside pushed the door open. Hou Zi rushed inside. "Leader! D City police sent over news; Someone called Li Su surrendered herself to them!"

Although Hou Zi whispered this, his eager tone and violently fluctuating emotions were very powerful. The light within Zuo Yi's eyes sharpened slightly. He first made someone lead housekeeper Zhou out before turning to ask Hou Zi, "What did she say?"

"She said, she took advantage of the car accident six years ago to switch her adopted daughter with the eldest daughter of the Ye family!"

While Li Xin Ran had been on this case, his three worldviews had been shattered continuously, so in comparison to Hou Zi, he was far from being so excited. He simply thought, Leader truly does prophesy with supernatural accuracy. He had previously mentioned that Ye Zhen Zhen might have been switched around twice.

Ye Kang Ping probably never imagined that he would be switching the real Ye Zhen Zhen back.

Hou Zi gave Zuo Yi a document, which was the faxed over statement from Li Su. This statement was the final piece of the jigsaw puzzle for this case.

Li Su was originally an employee at Ye Zhi Conglomerate. Because her womb had been injured, she could not get pregnant. As a result, she could not reach the final destination with whoever she dated. She originally thought that she would be alone for her entire life, but then one day, things took a turn for the better.

A mysterious man walked up to her with a baby. The man gave her generous conditions, allowing her to adopt this child with the only condition being that she must stay far away from A City. Li Su had been very hesitant at that time, but the man's imposing 'you cannot refuse' aura subconsciously made her nod her head. He gave her a bank card and a phone number, saying that she was to be wired money periodically. If something was wrong, she was to contact this number. That night, she left A City with the baby.

She named the child Li Jia Jia. The man revealed the baby's birthday to be January 5th. Five years serenely passed, and like the man had said, the bank card regularly received money. This continued until Li Su had to go to A City one time for work. She coincidentally saw a young girl that looked identical to Li Jia Jia. After asking around, she learned that it was Ye Hong Sheng's granddaughter, Ye Zhen Zhen. She connected the dots and roughly guessed what had happened, but she never knew why the Ye family abandoned a child.

She buried this matter deep in her heart and never mentioned it to Li Jia Jia. So, on that day when Li Jia Jia suddenly came to ask her if she had a twin sister, she had been stunned. Li Jia Jia was eight at that time, but the look in her eyes had made Li Su subconsciously speak the truth. After that day, Li Jia Jia seemed to have suddenly changed. She no longer got along with other children and would study extensively every single day.

The year Li Jia Jia turned fifteen, the two of them had their first rage-fueled argument. Li Jia Jia had stormed off in fury. Although Li Su was angry, she still chased after her in worry. Li Jia Jia had sprinted toward the nearby Dancing Sun Hill. When she ran across the street, a car suddenly came through. Although the car immediately changed directions, it still ran into Li Jia Jia before crashing into Dancing Sun Hill.

When Li Su arrived, Li Jia Jia laid on the ground beside the car, but she hadn't lost consciousness yet. She originally planned to call the police right away, but the back door of the car suddenly opened. A girl crawled out of the back seat.

Li Su only remembered just now the flash in Li Jia Jia's eyes as her adoptive daughter let her take away that girl instead.

Kiseki: I…I really question Chestnut's choice of phrase, as 梨花带雨 means 'like raindrops on a pear blossom.' It's an idiom…to describe a tear-stained face of a beauty. Wang Er Gou was just described as a really buff man. Yea, uh, too much gap moe, Chestnut. Too much.

Chapter 59: Diary — You still have me.【Catch】

"So, you're the real Ye Zhen Zhen."

Ye Zhen Zhen sat on the sofa, her phone loosely held up against her ear. Zuo Yi was still explaining particulars on the other end of the call. "After Li Su took you away, she was worried about how to explain things to you; she hadn't expected you to have lost your memory after you woke up. This saved her a lot of trouble."

Ye Zhen Zhen was stunned and then asked, "Then…the case ends like that?"

"Mn. You can return to live at the Ye Mansion. Later, Lawyer Qian should contact you in order to handle the formalities regarding inheritance. The police will tell the public the truth about Ye Hong Sheng's murder. As for this matter regarding the twin, we do not plan to tell the public."

"Got it…"

"Then I won't disturb you any longer. Goodbye." Zuo Yi hung up once he finished speaking. Ye Zhen Zhen stayed as if she was still talking on the phone for a while before dropping her hand.

These past months have really been too eventful. If she had just woken up to discover her inheritance exceeded a billion yuan, she would have felt like she scored a jackpot. Now, however, she simply felt a jumbled mess of emotions.

Because of that inheritance, her grandfather and Li Jia Jia both died. Qin Kong, her uncle, and her aunt, as well as Wang Er Gou, were about to be sentenced by the law. The Ye Mansion was already completely empty, so even if she returned, what could she do?

She breathed in through her nose, suddenly missing Dr. Ji. As long as she could stay by his side, she wouldn't feel lonely in a world so large.

She glanced at the clock on the wall. It was not three o'clock yet. Dr. Ji finished work at four-thirty. If there were too many patients, he might be busy till the evening. Restraining herself from rushing toward the hospital, Ye Zhen Zhen turned on the television in the living room. Although there was only a commercial showing, she felt that it was more lively than before.

She sat on the sofa, pondering. She then ran to grab the locked case she brought back from Li Jia Jia's room and returned to the living room to fiddle with it. After casually testing out a few numbers, the lid still did not move a single jot, discouraging Ye Zhen Zhen.

Wasn't there supposed to be telepathy between twins? Why couldn't she receive the secret code?!

【Qixi, are you ready?】1

This line from the television accidentally floated into Ye Zhen Zhen's ears. She subconsciously glanced up and saw a man wink on the screen that exact moment.

That body wash brand Emperor Mo endorses was releasing a Qixi-edition product.

Ye Zhen Zhen curled her lips. A body wash could be styled in so many ways; the manufacturers were truly making money. She inwardly cursed them out while noting the day the item hit the market.

Her gaze once again fell on the locked case. That split second, she felt like she telepathically linked to Li Jia Jia!

She impatiently used her phone to look up Emperor Mo's birthday and then inputted in the corresponding digits. Kla— the lid sprung open.

Ye Zhen Zhen thought, at this moment, that Emperor Mo was definitely Li Jia Jia's true love.

With sincerity brimming in her heart, she opened that box. Inside, there wasn't any precious treasures like she had imagined. There wasn't even any porn, just a simple diary.

Li Jia Jia's Diary.

Ye Zhen Zhen frowned and took out the diary. Although the writing on the cover was not good-looking, the handwriting was neat. From a look, she could tell it came from a child's hand.

She contemplatively flipped through the pages.

【Today Gang Ya Mei said she saw me at a theme park. I know she wants to show off her dad taking her to A City's largest theme park. I'm definitely not jealous!】

【Today I asked mom. So, it turns out that I really do have a twin sister. But why didn't they want me????】

【Today I took a test and scored first. If this continues, will I be able to test into A City's best middle school?】

【What use is passing the exam?! Why can't I go to A City??? Because she is there????】

【Today when I went to class, the two girls who sat next to me were talking about Mo Zhen's concert. They made plans to go together this weekend. This is his first concert…will he come to D City next?】

【Three more years. After I grow older, I will go to A City and study at the best university. I will become the best. You, the one that snatched everything away from me, I will take it back.】

【This is too funny. She actually says that the greatest happiness for a girl is to find a man to marry. On this earth, what can you rely on? A man??】

【Money and your own power.】

Rather than calling this a diary, it would be better to call this a record of Li Jia Jia's mood. Ye Zhen Zhen looked at the last entry, tears already streaming down her cheeks.

She was now definitely convinced that she had a special twin connection because each and every word in the diary easily affected her. Li Jia Jia's heart held unwillingness, resentment, and dedication—these bubbled forth from between the words and lines, allowing Ye Zhen Zhen to follow the emotional turmoil her twin had faced.

A missing memory floated to the forefront of her mind now because of her chaotic mental state.

That night six years ago, when she had crawled out of the car, Li Jia Jia just happened to be looking at her. She felt like her own expression at that time must have been one of extreme shock because the face looking at hers was exactly identical.

Four months ago, on that night, she had once again been shocked when she saw Li Jia Jia lying on the ground. But this time, Li Jia Jia could not open her eyes to look at her.

Seated on the sofa, Ye Zhen Zhen hugged the diary close, sobbing uncontrollably. She reckoned that even Lady Meng Jiang would blush with shame if she were faced with that imposing display.2

Ji Zhe Yan was some distance away from the door when he heard world-shaking sobs come from inside. With lightning speed, he opened the door and caught sight of Ye Zhen Zhen sitting on the sofa, snot and tears running down her face.

"What's wrong?" Ji Zhe Yan walked up with furrowed brows. Not standing still,  Ye Zhen Zhen threw herself at him. Embracing her tightly to his chest, Ji Zhe Yan consoled her by patting her back. "Gou Dan'er, don't cry. What do you want to eat tonight; I'll make it for you."

"Spspaghetti…" Despite crying enough to the point where she was gasping for air, she tenaciously announced the dish name. "Peppercorn…"

Ji Zhe Yan couldn't help but laugh. "You want small steak, right? There just so happens to be some in the refrigerator still."

"O-okay…" Dinner was probably the cure that revitalized Ye Zhen Zhen. She gradually stopped crying. Ji Zhe Yan saw her calm down some and lovingly kissed her swollen eyes. "So, what happened to cause you to cry like that?"

Ji Zhe Yan's suit was already wrinkled from Ye Zhen Zhen's embrace, but she still didn't let him go and used his chest to wipe away the snot and tears on her face. "Dr. Ji, I have no family. In this world, I'm alone…" Ye Zhen Zhen wanted to cry some more upon saying this.

Ji Zhe Yan's eyes shifted. He leaned down to nibble on her lips. "You still have me."

You still have me.

Ye Zhen Zhen's heart was touched. She hugged him even tighter. "Dr. Ji, you definitely cannot leave me."

In regards to 'money and your own power,' Ye Zhen Zhen wanted to find a man to marry even more.

Ji Zhe Yan used a bit of strength to press Ye Zhen Zhen down. "Mn…"

He originally wanted to say something, but when he saw Ye Zhen Zhen's kitten-like face, his movements slowed down slightly. "You..go wash your face first."

Washing her face as fast as she possibly could, Ye Zhen Zhen sprinted back into the living room, only to find Ji Zhe Yan already preparing dinner in the kitchen.

"Dr. Ji~" Hugging Ji Zhe Yan from behind, Ye Zhen Zhen rubbed herself against his back coquettishly.

Ji Zhe Yan's movements paused. He turned to glance at her. "Be obedient; don't make trouble. Food first."

Ye Zhen Zhen continued acting coquettish. "But I want to eat Dr. Ji first."

Ji Zhe Yan: "…:

He untied his apron and carried Ye Zhen Zhen into the bedroom.

"If you're hungry later, don't blame me." After saying this, Ji Zhe Yan kissed Ye Zhen Zhen's lips once more, with care and softness. Ye Zhen Zhen gradually melted into this kiss, pulling herself closer to this man. She only wanted to be closer to him.

"Do you still feel sore like the first time?" Ji Zhe Yan brushed Ye Zhen Zhen's sweaty hair away from her forehead, lightly kissing the top of her head.

Ye Zhen Zhen shook her head, saying, "No, very comfortable…I like doing this with Dr. Ji."

Ji Zhe Yan paused for a moment before somewhat helplessly nipping her delicate earlobe. "You really are…"

The rest of his words disappeared in another tangle of tongue and lips.

By the time they were done, it was nearly eight o'clock. Ye Zhen Zhen was laying on her side, gasping for precious air, with her arm tightly wrapped around Ji Zhe Yan's waist.

Ji Zhe Yan saw her tiredly close her eyes and sighed quietly. "If you don't want to starve to death, let go."

"Oh…" Ye Zhen Zhen was indeed very hungry, but she didn't want to let go of Ji Zhe Yan. "It would be nice if small steak can pan fry itself."

"If such is the case, then Gou Dan'er, you don't have the last value in life on this earth."

Ye Zhen Zhen: "…"

She angrily said, "I'm called Ye Zhen Zhen! I remember everything!"

"Mn." Ji Zhe Yan faintly agreed.

Ye Zhen Zhen was unhappy. "How come you're not surprised?"

"Gou Dan'er is surprised?"

Ye Zhen Zhen curled her lips and decided to not talk about this any more. Ji Zhe Yan let her hug him for a while longer, but he felt that really should be making dinner. Otherwise this little one might starve to death in silence.

"Gou Dan'er?" Ji Zhe Yan pushed the person hugging him away and prepared to sit up.

Ye Zhen Zhen nuzzled into his chest, whispering, "Dr. Ji, the one that died should have actually been me…"

Ji Zhe Yan's hands stiffened. He then hugged her close, frowning. "Don't say such things again."

Although he was a doctor and touched death nearly every day, he also didn't want to hear that word come from her mouth.

"Dr. Ji…" Ye Zhen Zhen's voice carried a faint sob within it. "I will finish university for her. I will do my best to graduate…"

"Mn." Ji Zhe Yan bowed his head and dropped a kiss on her forehead. "I'm taking a vacation the day after tomorrow. I made plans to eat with my parents; you're coming, too."

"Ah…" This news was too sudden. Although she had already seen her future in-laws, that…that situation was better off not happening!

Ji Zhe Yan smiled and kissed her cheek. "I plan to formally introduce you to them and tell them of our marriage while we're at it."

"Okay…" The word 'marriage' made Ye Zhen Zhen shyly duck her head.

"Gou Dan'er, if you don't graduate, our wedding day will have no choice but to be postponed indefinitely."

Ye Zhen Zhen: "…"

In order to marry, she would stake everything!

Author's Note:

This author originally wanted to take advantage of Double 12 to buy some books, but in the end, the book I wanted to buy didn't participate in Double 12. (Double 12 is Singles' Day, the CN version of Black Friday)

I still wanted to buy it, and just after I bought it in the afternoon, there was a discount given that evening

Furthermore, it wouldn't let me cancel the order to place a new one

So I no longer believe in Double 12
