Impoverished Vampire

The cold wind and low atmospheric pressure persisted within the living room. Though at least it didn’t look like the two culprits had any intention to continue the fight.

Hao Ren sighed as if giving up as he picked up the frozen lump of a teapot (it was even covered in cracks from the cold).

As long as the other party didn’t “exposure” their true nature, they would temporarily recognise each other as neutral.

That was the fruit of labour after a whole hour of persuasion, a whole hour of preaching about the greater good.

In order to prove that she didn’t threaten the landlord, Lily called ‘Roll’ out in order to testify her innocence in this matter.

Seeing that Lily was quite the dumbass, Vivian decided to trust her.

Yet, the amazing thing was that Lily actually believed her……

Apparently, Vivian had been shocked at the very first moment she saw him this morning, which suggests that she didn’t come here expressly to look for him in particular.

Nodding her head, Vivian dug out a colourful piece of paper from the handbag she carried around with her while saying:

“I came after following this address. I want a place to live.”

Lily, who had been nearby lamenting over the broken tea table, abruptly transformed into wolf form.

Amazingly, it was the advert that he had posted just a few days ago!

Evaluating Vivian by looking at her up and down, he said:

“You came here to rent?”

“That’s right~.”

Vivian nodded incessantly.

In response, Hao Ren asked bluntly:

“Why does it have to be my place……”

What he meant by that was why were these kind of abnormal occurrences happening to him.

Didn’t they say vampires were the elegant nobles in the darkness? What did she do to end up like this?

“It’s indeed pretty cheap here. Though if you’re not worried about the area being too remote, then just stay here.”

Hao Ren was dazed for a few seconds but still nodded.

An expression of not knowing whether to cry or laugh crossed his face.

‘When you’re covered with lice, you don’t itch; when you’re up to your ears in debt, you stop worrying.’[2] There was already a werewolf, so it was already probably too much for him to expect to have a normal life in the foreseeable future.

Well, so be it if it was an extra vampire. Everything could be considered as adding colour to his life.

“Though, I need to make one thing clear ahead of time. You can’t cause trouble…… Of course, I won’t spread the matter about you and Lily outside. I don’t want to die, you see.”

However, Hao Ren wasn’t actually worried much about getting murdered.

Look at this degree of slow response.

A loud ‘crack’ resounded as the previously cracked tea table had finally become useless.

“Do you think I want to stay together with a wild beast?!”

Vivian’s temper wasn’t inferior, but it was a good thing that she still remembered the previous promise of truce and didn’t irresponsibly emit cold air,

“If I’m not dying from poverty, who would come here!”

Hao Ren suddenly felt that perhaps rejecting Vivian was the correct choice. Letting this werewolf live under the same roof as the vampire was clearly going to kill him.

Also, due to the series of chaotic events, his already not-so-bright brain was already somewhat confused.

Laughing in embarrassment, Lily was a surprisingly compliant werewolf girl, contrary to the ones in legends and myths.

Should there be a one in a million chance where the power of his speech didn’t work, then he would really be grasping for straws while stepping on thin ice.

All of the above points could be summarised into one: How the heck was a human going to bargain against two monster girls?

Though, no matter how turbid, he wanted to use what modest amount of power he possessed in an attempt to maintain his “normal” life which looked to be ending soon.

But just as he buried in a myriad of thoughts, a seemingly earth shattering scream suddenly came from beside him.

“Ah! My wallet!”

Vivian’s whole body practically leapt up from the sofa.

This vampire maiden could somehow maintain a little gracefulness most of the time, but right now, such gracefulness was clearly nowhere to be found: her wallet had disappeared.

“It must have been last night……I was smashed into a daze by this asshole and now I don’t know where I dropped my wallet!”

Vivian rummaged through her clothes and the handbag for a good while before finally looking at Lily with a face mixed with despair and anger before saying:

“You stupid dog! That was the last of my living expenses! Compensate me!”

Lily’s facial expression was somewhat awkward, but she still turned her face away.

“Don’t blame others for your lack of ability. You having no money to rent is perfect. I won’t have to look at your stupid face now~”

But after a while, she still turned around:

“Go and look at the front door and the nearby streets? Perhaps it might have been dropped on the way.”

Facts have proven that this retarded werewolf was surprisingly good hearted.

“Yesterday, I flew great distances in order to find moonlight to recover my strength,” Vivian complained, “How would I know where it was dropped……. *sob*, the last of my living expenses, the living expenses which I saved up for so long…… I lost my money four times this month, and this was the last of it!”

Hao Ren’s eyebrows twitched: How badly did this vampire mess up to end up so tragic?! Where was the noble of the night?

Though, he very quickly recognised this as a piece of great news. With this, it seemed like there was no need to worry about having to face situations such as ‘werewolf x vampire’ warfare in the days to come. Now he had a definite reason to make Vivian leave.

Being able to maintain peace was the freaking[3] truth of life, okay!
