Being hasty would only be counterproductive.

Yang Yi believed Zhang Yong's refusal to teach him had nothing to do with principle. He was simply too lazy to do so. After thinking about it, Zhang Yong entered prison because he wanted an idyllic life, although it sounded ridiculous it wasn't implausible. As such, he definitely wouldn't want anyone to bother him.

Everyone had a weakness. A weakness as long as it existed could be exploited.

Danny hadn't told Yang Yi that Zhang Yong was a gambling addict. Zhang Yong had actually been playing cards by himself. Yang Yi didn't believe that Zhang Yong was playing alone simply because he liked playing cards.

Was it even possible for someone to simply like playing cards but not like to gamble? Of course, it was. In fact, the number was quite large. However, anyone who liked playing cards wouldn't play Blackjack alone.

Thus, Yang Yi exploited Zhang Yong's addiction to achieve his own objective when he saw him playing Blackjack by himself. With a plan in mind, Yang Yi couldn't be hasty. He would only earn Zhang Yong's resentment if he was too hasty.

Yang Yi had won most of Zhang Yong's cigarettes. Given that Zhang Yong's cigarettes were all borrowed from others, Yang Yi suspected he was pretty upset right now. Upon first meeting him, Yang Yi upset Zhang Yong. Therefore, he had the intention to make Zhang Yong even more upset at their second meeting.

Yang Yi had a lot of cigarettes right now. Not only had he won six packs of cigarettes and another ten sticks of loose cigarettes after betting with Zhang Yong, he had also brought along four cartons of cigarettes when he was transferred over. The four cartons were equivalent to another forty packs of cigarettes. Without a doubt, Yang Yi had ample cigarettes to use for betting.

During the free activity period, Yang Yi brought along ten packs of cigarettes. Zhang Yong was waiting in the same spot as yesterday. Moreover, those who had lent him cigarettes yesterday were also standing nearby.

The Black man named Marvin immediately exclaimed the moment he saw Yang Yi, "He's here. Let him see just how awesome you are!" Marvin was definitely insinuating that Yang Yi wasn't on par with Zhang Yong.

All the other inmates standing around Zhang Yong were smoking and had smug looks on their faces when they saw Yang Yi.

"Come, have a sit."

"Hi, Landmine," Yang Yi immediately sat in front of Zhang Yong.

There were two cartons of cigarettes in front of Zhang Yong. One was still unopened while the other had been opened. Although one carton had been opened, none of the cigarettes inside were missing. Zhang Yong picked up the opened carton and chuckled, "I definitely have enough stakes today."

Yang Yi placed all the cigarettes he was going to use as stakes on the bench and laughed, "If that's the case, how about one box per hand?"

"No problem!" Zhang Yong answered with full confidence. He then smiled as he took out a new deck of playing cards.

"I was thinking after I got back to my cell. There was no way you were cheating but at the same time, you couldn't be that lucky. It made me think of Johnny Chen the King of Gamblers. He had an excellent memory and superb mathematical skills. I suspect you are similar to him. So, I have prepared this new deck of cards."

Yang Yi was momentarily stunned. He hadn't expected Zhang Yong would be able to come up with a solution to deal with him so quickly. As a matter of fact, Yang Yi's gambling style was actually quite common. He was able to sweep Zhang Yong clean yesterday simply because he had remembered the smallest details on each card.

His trick would no longer work now that a new deck of cards was being used unless he placed markings on the new cards. However, he would be cheating if he did so.

After sighing, Yang Yi laughed, "Are we playing Blackjack again today?"

"Yes."

Yang Yi nodded as he replied, "Sure, bring it on."

Zhang Yong opened the cards and took out the Jokers from the deck. After shuffling the deck numerous times, he started dealing the cards. He then stared at Yang Yi's eyes without blinking.

Yang Yi didn't avoid Zhang Yong's eyes and just smiled at him. Yang Yi won the first hand because of luck. He then lost the second, third and fourth hands because of luck, as well.

Zhang Yong was very smug. After Yang Yi lost the fourth hand, Carlos fiercely said, "It means you were cheating yesterday if you can't win miraculously like you did yesterday. If that's the case, you won't be able to escape."

Yang Yi spread his hands and laughed, "There's no need to be so anxious. You can continue dealing the cards."

He would have a 95% win rate if the cards were marked. Without the markings, his win rate would only be about 55%. Even so, that was still a significant advantage. Anyone could rely on a 55% win rate to make a fortune gambling in any gameplay.

After all, Yang Yi did have an excellent memory and superb mathematical skills.

When it came to playing card games, both analytical and judgment skills were a necessity. Essentially, it all came down to a question of probability and monitoring the opponent's expression to determine what cards he had. Therefore, as long as his opponent wasn't cheating and the victory wasn't to be decided within a single hand, Yang Yi would still end up being the final winner in the long run.

Yang Yi's EQ might not be higher than Zhang Yong and his wealth of experience was also inferior to Zhang Yong, but Yang Yi did have the brain of a genius after all. His brain had always been his most powerful weapon.

As the one-hour free activity period was coming to an end soon, Zhang Yong started sweating profusely. He finally understood one point. Although he could treat human life like grass and kill a human as if he was killing a chicken, he still couldn't avoid feeling tense when it came to gambling.

After wiping his sweat, Zhang Yong calmed himself as looked at Yang Yi and said, "Say something.

"Hit me."

Zhang Yong dealt a 5. With that card, Yang Yi had 18 points. So, Yang Yi smiled as he replied, "Stand."

Zhang Yong gritted his teeth as he took a card and flipped it over. At this time, Carlos who was standing behind Zhang Yong couldn't help but exclaim in annoyance.

"It seems like it's my victory again." Yang Yi placed the cigarettes in front of him and smiled. "Please continue."

Just at that moment, the bell rang signaling the end of free activity period. Zhang Yong finally felt like a burden had been lifted from his mind and said to Yang Yi, "Time's up. Let's continue again tomorrow.

Yang Yi started to stow away all the cigarettes he had won and laughed, "Sure, we'll continue again tomorrow."

Now that Yang Yi had found Zhang Yong, he had also managed to manipulate Zhang Yong to get on the path he wanted. Thus, there was no longer any need for him to be hasty as he could take it slow.

On the third day, Yang Yi only brought along a carton of cigarettes to the free activity period. As for Zhang Yong, he only brought along three packs of cigarettes which was his remaining stakes from the previous day. None of the crowd observing the game was smoking today. Once Yang Yi started to smoke, the crowd was eyeing Yang Yi's cigarettes like hungry wolves that hadn't eaten for three days looking at a piece of meat.

Yang Yi pretended not to see the desire of those around him and placed his cigarette on the bench and laughed, "What are we playing today?"

Zhang Yong scratched his head as he said, "We won't be playing Blackjack today. We'll play Texas Hold'em instead."

Yang Yi spread his hands and laughed, "Sure, Texas Hold'em it is but I don't think you have enough stakes."

Zhang Yong's face flushed when he replied, "Err, let's keep the wager small today. One stick at a time."

Yang Yi didn't mind the wager being one stick at a time. On the contrary, he actually managed to clean out Zhang Yong within a single hand. In that game, Zhang Yong had managed to obtain a Flush but Yang Yi had a Full House. Thus, Zhang Yong had lost all his cigarettes within a single hand.

Zhang Yong's face had turned green the moment the cards were revealed. Yang Yi sighed as he helplessly said, "Apologies Brother Yong, it seems like you no longer have any gambling stakes left."

Zhang Yong was depressed and had nothing to say. At that moment, Marvin couldn't help saying, "Hey, brat! Now that you have won so much, you should distribute some cigarettes so that everyone here can have a smoke. It's not like cigarettes are money."

What was Yang Yi's aim? It was exactly to win all the cigarettes Zhang Yong could gather and thus wipe out all the cigarettes that could be found within his social circle.

Prison wasn't the same as the outside world. The reason why cigarettes could be treated as hard currency in prison wasn't that most of the inmates were smokers but because it was difficult to smuggle cigarettes into prison. Although the wardens wouldn't prohibit the inmates from smoking, they would never open the door wide for cigarettes to come in unchecked because it was one of their means of controlling the inmates. Since all the cigarettes Zhang Yong had used to gamble were borrowed from others, there was no way he could quickly get a new batch of cigarettes to return them even if he had the money.

His aim was to force all the smokers into a corner. Yang Yi intended to annoy the hell out of them and piss them off to death. He wanted to provoke them by smoking while none of them could have any.

Yang Yi ignored all the inmates who were yearning for a smoke. He looked at Zhang Yong and smiled, "Seems like there's no way we can continue playing today."

Zhang Yong composed himself and spoke to Yang Yi in an ill-mannered way, "You... Can I buy some cigarettes? I will buy them at a price of a hundred dollars a pack."

"But I don't want to sell."

Marvin was furious and Carlos immediately took out a knife. Carlos' underlings approached Yang Yi when they saw the knife being taken out.

"Stop!" Zhang Yong yelled. Although none of the crowd charged towards Yang Yi, it could be seen that all of their eyes were burning with fury.

Zhang Yong took a deep breath and said, "Brat, are you taking advantage of me?"

Yang Yi earnestly said, "I'm not a hypocrite. So, I will speak my mind whenever I talk. I believe you will give the Captain face and won't act against me right? If that's the case, I'll continue to gamble with you. You know what I want but I won't coerce you with these cigarettes. Both parties must be willing when it comes to such matters. Anyway, I won't be accepting money if you want cigarettes. You will have to exchange it with something else."

Zhang Yong grinned, "So, you think you have me cornered is that it? Sure, I won't gamble with you anymore. I'll definitely be able to find cigarettes to return back to everyone. Don't even think you can coerce me with this trick of yours."

Yang Yi laughed as he replied, "I don't have anything to lose anyway. Now that you've landed in this predicament, I think your stay here will no longer be pleasant even if there is no one to bother you. If it was me, I wouldn't feel good until I've won back all the cigarettes I have lost. After all, those are cigarettes I owe to others… Forget it. I'll just look like a scumbag if I continue to say anything else. You can take your time and consider it."

Carlos erupted in anger at that very moment and retorted, "We're going to gamble with him in Texas Hold'em now! Let me join the game. I will gamble with you as well."

Yang Yi spread his hands and said, "Sure, you're welcome to join provided you have gambling stakes."

Carlos took a hand-made knife and placed it in front of Yang Yi and said in anger, "I will use this knife to exchange for ten packs of cigarettes! I will use those cigarettes to gamble with you."

Yang Yi smiled and replied, "Five packs. That's my final offer."

Marvin looked at Zhang Yong and said, "Let's gamble with him. We can definitely win in Texas Hold'em." After Marvin said that, he took out a knife and placed it in front of Yang Yi before he angrily said, "Five packs! Take it!"

Yang Yi put the knife away and took out five packs of cigarettes. More than two thousand inmates were imprisoned in the felony section. It was impossible to cram so many inmates in a single area, so the felony section was divided into six different blocks. Yang Yi, at the moment, had won all the cigarettes in Block E which was the block Yang Yi and Zhang Yong stayed in.

Right now Yang Yi planned to exchange weapons for cigarettes and he planned to own all the weapons within Block E via this method.
